You have a lot coming at you if you think you've got it made in real estate just because you were a businessman. This industry is like no other. As I had explained before, you will find out soon enough.

Confidence is good. Overconfidence will kill you.

I have heard over and over again the excuse that someone should join a large company for the training. I have managed at a couple of large companies and can tell you that you can obtain the same training on your own. There is a program in Texas called "Quick Start" put on by the Texas Association of Realtors. It has the manual online for purchase- http://texasrealtors.com/web/8/134/158/

There are several other helpful courses- ABR, ASR, CRS, etc... Do not wait for someone to train you. This is not rocket science. Take the initiative!!! It is your career, not theirs. There are those that do, and those that don't. The former will succeed and the latter will not. Good Luck!!
