Does anyone know how you can set your computer to accept a BPO order as soon as it hits your email. I want to be able to accept them even when I am away from my computer so I don't miss the opportunity.
Thanks for the help

How do you get into doing bpo's? Where do they come from? How do I get them to come to me?

You have to hunt down the BPO and REO companies and become a registered vendor. It takes awhile to get your foot in the door.

Vicky:

Buy a Blackberry or other device with internet access and "push" (instant) e-mail capabilities.

I use a T-Mobile MDA and I get the e-mails, log in to the web site and accept. Works great!

Realty World - there's a "search" button up there on the top right of the screen. Kind of small so maybe you missed it. If you spend some time searching the forum, you'll get tons of info. It will take awhile but it's worth it.

Hello Vicky have you been doing bpo's long?

I never would put anything on auto accept.

Reasons:
1.You don't know the deadline or how much it pays.
2.It could be a really hard bpo to comp,1900 house 2/1 with no comps around that will take up your whole day and more than likely will have to do multiple clarifications.
3.The distance quoted by the reps when they call is often wrong, instead of 11 miles one way it could be 20.
4.You don't know the terms pic of subject only or pics of solds and actives, can mls photos be used?

Before i accept i do due diligence.
Here's what i do and it takes about 2 minutes.

1.check e-mail to see what the instructions are and if they are acceptable for the fee.
2.Check tax record through my mls to see if this will be a hard property to comp or not.
3.Use mapquest,or yahoo,or mapblast to verify the distance and location.

If all these check out i accept.
I have blindly accepted when i first did these and had to pay a heavy price. If you auto accept and get stuck with the real dogs then you won't have time to do the easy ones. You will only have so much time in the day and it need to go to the highest and best use closest bpo's,easy requirements and forms, easy to comp and high pay.

Just get e-mail on your phone with an auto alert where it will chime in when you have a new e-mail message. Some places will give you bulk orders if you take the good with the bad but i don't do that.

good luck

As far as 'auto-accept' if you feel you can't do the order, you can still decline it...it's your option to take it or not. Auto-accept to me just means, I don't have to 'fight' with my competition to get an order, and yes, I have declined auto-accept orders before and got more orders after...no problem , and no sweat..

I agree with SuperRealtor....I don't auto-accept anything. I used to, and would end up with a BPO 60 miles away that required 6 comp photos and paid $40. Umm, NO. And yes, I have had companies get VERY irrate if you don't complete an auto-accept. They will explain that "auto accept means you'll complete the orders we send you"....that's what they told me.

I will do auto-accept, but when I do I limit the zip codes that I am willing to do that way. That prevents me from getting assigned to do a property that is 50 miles away but means I don't have to fight to get the ones that are close to my home/office.

I turn down a few auto-accepts. Depending on the distance and fee. I still recieve orders fairly regularly, but the ones I do accept are always done w/in 48hrs unless there are extenuating circumstances.
