Check out the windows based AudioVox 5600 at Cingular. It is about 1/2 the price and I can easily access the local MLS, realtor.com, etc and also accept BPO work quickly.

You can get a 5600 off Ebay for about $100.

I am using Sprint, because they have the vision option with alerts for recieving my e-mail forwards.

I didn't have a cell for a while because I wasn't doing retail real estate for a period. We got rid of the phones to cut on expenses. I found out when I was doing BPOs, that I was "losing" between $100 and $250 a month. That justified the purchase. ;\)

I use the blackberry, as soon as a email goes out to my email address it comes right to my blackberry, and I can accept and retrive from cc source, ect, sites, helps me and makes me money and I still have a phone and a lot of other options. I read the post and my Blackberry has really helped me, and I have made money with it so it pays for itself for me. My opinion!

I use a Treo 650 through Sprint. My unlimited data package is $5 per month. Other than having to talk on a keyboard (and look like a dork) or use a BT headset (and look like a dork) it works great.

I highly recommend it. I also use it as a Palm PDA, a Web browser, etc. It even opens my Supra lockboxes.

If you have strong Verizon coverage in your area, check out the new Motorola Q PDA phone. It just came out today. And is very nicely priced at $200 online, it competes with the Treo 650-700w and others, but much lighter and thinner. If you like Outlook and use an Exchange server, Windows Mobile 5.0 is great. I've used blackberry before, but in my opinion, the Windows products are more versatile. Verizon's data prices are a bit more costly than the competitiors, but the network is very strong, and Verizon is very focused on the business consumer.

Yeah, I'm a Blackberry user and I think it's great! I have the 7100g through Cingular and sync my emails. I caught many orders through my handheld, no problem!

I almost bought the blackberry, but was worried that spending the $200 now would bite me later once the price went down. I wouldn't mind upgrading in a few months, once I get some more orders going to justify the cost. The Sprint text notification works well, and I can call in the acceptance (great way to ask questions first), or take a little longer and use the phone to accept. I only had to use it once, but I happened to be near another computer, and just logged in to accept.

Basically any phone that can accept e-mail and notify you when you have a message is sufficient. The ease of use, and cost you have to weigh yourself.

I told Cingular I was going to drop them, because my garbage LG phone sucked, and I needed a phone with more productivity. They offered me the re-furb Blackberry for $70 bucks...so, for me to test it out at that price, and catch all the orders I have, it more than paid for itself. I'll probably upgrade in a few months to the 8700, but right now, so far so great!
