Just a personal observation but I wouldn't waste my money on the national foreclosure listing sites unless you are advertising to pick up buyers.
Foreclosure.com is pretty typical for these lists. If it is 20-25% accurate, it is doing well. Like many of these lists it's info is highly dated and sometimes just plain wrong. Having the same property listed twice is another tweak fairly common on this list as with many others.
Maybe it's just my area but today they claimed some 397 REO properties in my county. No where near that high. Then had only 7 properties in pre-foreclosure. No where near that low. (We have that many Sheriff Sales each weekday.)
No, your best bet is a local list provider (costly but usually worth it), a friend at a title company with this info, or the time to do the research yourself. As to the latter, most of the counties here do not have this on the web. One out of 11 metro counties has the Sheriff Sale results (a month after the fact).
So, for us, it's find an alternative or start making trips to the courthouse...
