I joined yesterday. I have not spent much time on the site yet, but I was contacted by a rather arrogant mortgage broker. He had my attention and my interest, but at the end of his letter he requested me not to "waste his time" if I was not clsoing three sides a month. I felt it a bit ironic that he was soliciting me and asking me not to waste his time.
Either way, I hope the service offers more than that. I also hope you continue to rack up points for those of us that you recruit.

Nobody complained that you shared the information, they complained when you pushed it for the FOURTH TIME. Go back and look. This post is number FIVE. When you first posted, nobody said anything. Nobody said anything on the second post. Nobody said anything about the third post. Those that were interested, signed up and those that weren't didn't.

People's objections are that you have a direct interest in building your profile by soliciting others to join and that you are using this forum to make that happen. I'm happy that you found something that works for you and, honestly, I'm glad you shared it the first time. But I think there's a place for solicitations in another area of this forum.

Tim and Susan- why do you neglect to mention that clicking on the link in your post does indeed up your "rating" at the activerain.com site? When one clicks on "your" link and then signs up, you reap the benefits. Nowhere in your ongoing posts do you mention that as being your motivator for us to try the service.As a matter of fact, in your first post here you claim that some here misunderstand your motivation. I don't think so. It is painfully obviuos what your motives are.
That may be the factor that is creating the "naysayers'that you mention.

I should add that in a previous post, I suggested that you post these things in other forums but I now see that you're doing that too - by my quick count, you've posted your solicitation 11 times in 5 different forums.

I thought the post in the RELOCATION forum was a stretch, though.

That is the only problem with a site that gives credit for bringing in other members. There are always a few that will use questionable tactics to get new sign ups.

RULES ARE RULES... You broke them! Simple! Whatever your reason for doing so, good, bad, whatever... you still did something wrong.

Minimizing breaking the rules as if it were a "game" is still no excuse.
