So, I help agents by evaluating their current keywords on their sites and what to do to begin generating their own traffic to get more leads all while financing their loans in 36 states.

Well, what I see ALL TOO COMMON is something like this:
"real estate, homes, buy, dallas, austin" etc etc.

This is doing you no good at all!

#1. "real estate" is such a broad keyword that even if you were ranked #1 in google for that keyword, unless you were the broker of a national agency, it would do you no good!!!

#2. What about dallas are you trying to rank for?

Guys and gals, think about your market and what you do for a living. You sell real estate right? Maybe you sell Real estate in a specific city perhaps, such as Dallas TX?

What would someone wanting to buy a house in Dallas TX google?

Dallas TX Homes
Dallas TX Real estate
buy a home in dallas tx

These are considered long tail keywords and they are what you want to rank for to drive traffic to your site.

So, look at your keywords on your site. I'm betting $5 that 90% of you are using these broad based keywords and will need to change them.

So, you've changed your keywords to something that will actually HELP you! What's the next step to getting them ranked in the Search Engines?

LINKS! Lots of Links!

Lets say I want my site to come up in Google when people search for Dallas TX Real Estate. Then what I need to do is have a bunch of links pointing back to my website using Dallas TX Real Estate as my anchor text. (Anchor text is the text that people see representing the link) The more links you have around the web using that keyword string as your anchor text, the more google will say "pick this site for your keyword because lots of people like it!". And the higher in the rankings you go.

The premise of SEO is very simple, however, establishing your foundation is the hard part. This is where someone like me comes in as I know all of the tricks and software etc that helps to establish rankings pretty quick.

Thats my tip for the day. You are welcome to contact me directly if you are in need of a quality Loan Officer that can honestly help you turn your online presence into an actual presence. My personal website is www.jasonappleton.com

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
