I was looking around on YouTube and noticed there wasn't many real estate listings on there? I was thinking about starting up a business where I would make YouTube videos / image slide shows for around $25 a video. However after noticing that there wasn't many on there I'm wondering if realtors would even consider this? What are your thoughts?

Howdy Scott!

Hmm.... not sure... I always say, test-Test-TEST.

I don't think they help sell houses, but it does help sell potential homeowners on listing with you.

no. youtube is nothing more than a platform to host virtual walkthrough/drone videos.

it's not a go-to website to search for real estate listings.

Also, slideshows are super lame these days because they use the same photos that are already on the listing.

No, YouTube is dead.

Just kidding. Of course we're using YT. We have walkthroughs, and marketing vids. We build our YT videos and then promote them so they show up when people search.

Maybe it seems like nobody is using YT because of where/how you're searching. Try looking in other areas and I'm sure you'll find plenty of examples.

Scott, if you search for "houses for sale", "homes for sale", or "properties for sale" on Youtube, there are hundreds of listings there. If you search for "real estate youtube channel", you will see hundreds of Youtube channels of many well-known realtors. Now Youtube has become the second largest search engine just behind Google. People search almost everything on Youtube including buying a home. Realtors take this opportunity and upload their listings on Youtube.
However, if you want to make a youtube video featuring the inside tour of a home, your video must be very good. The video does not need to be a $2,000 production but it must be quite good. Remember, the average home price today is very close to half a million dollars. Your video must be able to impress the prospects.

Don't forget you can use youtube for putting up great videos but you can also embed the video on your own website. If it's another tool at your disposal and doesn't cost much if anything then why not?

YouTube is not a good way for real estate agent, because there are less people who watch videos of houses, apartments, etc. So there are less real estate promotional videos on YouTube.

Using YouTube or Vimeo to showcase listings can also be good not only to embed in your website and share in social media but also think about mobile, these platforms look great on most devices and are really easy to browse through. Nowadays most home/property searches start on mobile devices, so it wouldn't hurt to be prepared.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
