I am currently a resident in Utah and hold a license. I want to also become licensed in Texas. I am not transferring. I do wish to hold a license in each state. I know that Texas has no reciprocity and that while they will recognize my National Testing, I will have to do their state testing and classes. My question is one of the requirements state that I must be Texas residence. While I do plan on renting a property down there as I will visit often, Texas will not be my domicile. Anyone that has done the multi-state licensing, that has any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I suggest you just call the Texas Real Estate Commission, and see how they handle Licensees who live in abutting States and don't reside in Texas (there must be plenty of them) and who do business in Texas; but don't and won't claim to reside there.

Here's their Home Page:

Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC)
