I have a seller that wants to sell his home but wants to do so privately as to not disturb the tenants living there. I've never had this request before. He wants us to market it to our buyers, as well as to other Realtors who have buyers, but wants no public information on his house being sold anywhere.

1. Is this possible?
2. Has any agent ever experienced this and can share tips on how they did it?

In a nutshell, the house will be sold with tenants currently residing there (renting), but does not want those tenants to know he is selling so they don't get scared and move away while he is trying to sell it. I'm going to assume we'd accept curb offers with a contingency on actually seeing the house and it being inspected. Any tips or advice on how this might work is appreciated.

Unless the property is a real basket case, Good Luck in getting those "sight unseen offers" !

Are you going to keep the address a secret too . . . . or will the Tenants have reason to call the Police when they detect people (Buyers and their Agents) frequently lurking around the exterior, looking, talking and taking pictures.

I think they'll resent the LandLord trying to do this more than if he simply came clean and told them, and also gave them an opportunity to buy it if they were interested.

In this society, they'll know what he's up to faster than he can imagine . . . . the speed of gossip is ultrafast; they probably already know.

Nobody's fooling anybody !

We had a local restaurant secretly for sale recently. They didn't want the cook staff and waiters to bail out or start offering bad service. I sold the manager's home who then moved out of state. The business went down the drain after that. Now it is just a vacant building.

Your sellers are probably worried about the tenants not taking care of the property any longer. I just don't see how you are going to pull that deal off. Either get the owner's to do this right or spend your time more productively elsewhere.
