I don't do a PI for less than 30.00. I would never do one for $6.00. With the price of gas you are not making anything.

Five brothers usually pays really well - I have only done 2 interior BPO's for them, but they were $100 & $125 - on the $125, they paid me extra because I had to make 2 trips to the property - I didn't even ask them to, they just paid me an extra $25. Are you sure the rep said six and not sixty?

$6 is an insult... I take some for FARVV for $15 sometimes if its en route... and I do the $25 jobs for RELS because they're real steady with other work.
$6 this week is 1.88 gallons of gas or 33.97 miles.
If it was within 5 miles travel distance that would leave a whopping $4.41 after gas (my ride 20 MPG &$3.179) If you can accept the order, locate the address, drive to, take the picture, drive fro, upload the pic to your computer, crop the picture, upload to their site, fill out the form, read it over a second time and hit submit all within 50.4 minutes you just earned Federal Minimum Wage.
I've an old contractor friend (tile setter) who taught me: "Before you low ball a job, ask yourself 'Do I want to work my a$$ off and be poor or just sit on the couch and be poor?' "
Tell 'em to cram it.

You do not need a license to do these for many companies. Not that it can help you wrap your head around it but I know of a large property preservation company that does occ checks for $6-15 that employs services of non licensed photo takers. These photo takers take photos for other reasons as well, such as insurance underwriting, vehicle repos, auto insurance claims and etc...One of these services is www.fastsnap.com. I have an aquaintance that started doing this, when they were laid off from their job, and is still doing it part time. He had many days where he would get 30+ orders. Not big bucks but I'm sure if you build a good system of it you can make a decent part time income.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
