We found a really really nice bank owned home that is in our price range. It's a Fannie Mae Homepath. My credit is good, about 730. My husband's however is not. He had a 632 last time we checked. Our lender needed to get his credit score up to a 640 to get an FHA loan. We still aren't sure if it's there yet as we haven't heard back from her since he cleared up some debts and I added him as an authorized user to my credit card.
I have been reading that you need to have a 660 to get a Homepath. You can get one with a 620 score but it requires 20% down, which we can't afford. I don't suppose one spouse having good credit is good enough, huh? Is there any way around that other than just me dong the loan on my own?
