Political correctness is gone to far when now the computer systems are flagging us. I input one for farvv and kept getting a message to check my comments. Checked them and rechecked them could not figure out why it was flagging me. All the blanks were filled in etc. Called them and they told me that now the computer scans for words that will be flag by the customer. The rep told me they are working on it because right now it basically is flagging everything. I told her all my comments were pc. She told me to ignore it and send it. Things are starting to get alittle big brothery for me when computers start telling me what words I can and can not use. I don't mind a human flagging me but a computer?

This is happening on several of the sites. I just wish that they would highlight the word(s) so we would know what the they/the computer don't like. Was on one discussion group that did highlight words and found that perfectly innocent words taken out of context was the norm.
The computer doesn't know any better. Flags the word, not the meaning.
When this happens on one of the BPOs and I can't find an obvious word I just make a note that I went through all the comments and couldn't find anything offensive. All have passed just fine.

Countrygirl, thanks for posting this. Now I see what has been going on lately. I thought they were telling me I said too much. I always check for PC but apparently I need to brush up, because I have seen this on my last three reports.
I'll re-read those reports and see what I said that I should not have said. I'm always commenting about the popularity of a neighborhood when it's a neighborhood where the houses go quickly. Sometimes the comps can't be in subject's neighborhood, so the DOM don't reflect the popularity of the subject's neighborhood.
Gary, I haven't seen a Pride of Ownership drop-down. Since they have so many clients, I'm guessing that you do a form I have not done. I have two forms I usually get, so maybe we get our forms based on how high our client's clients rates us. Does that make sense?

I did one for a company whose reports are scanned by computer and it wouldn't take the word church. But the name of the street was Church. I had to falsify the name of the street to submit the work.

Yep, I agree. When we use the word "overbuilt", that is tied directly to the neighborhood, right? Some forms want to know about overhead power lines, city dumps, railroad tracks...that goes to the neighborhood. I don't know that I could do a BPO without considering the neighborhood. And the street view - that's about the neighborhood. So we have to have a few words.
I understand pride of ownership, I think, because poor or disabled people might be accused of not having pride of ownership, but pulling car motors under the carport...I have no problem calling that NO PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP.
I DO love those property inspections. I could do those all day long, even if all they do pay is $6.
Alice, your situation with the name "Church" had to add an hour onto your BPO. I can just visualize you trying everything to get it to take. Yikes.

Country girl, I had this with the same company today checked my comments a few times (frustrating). It did not affect my "score". I usually enter statement like comments. Does it pick up on the grammar?
Gary, I used that phrase yesterday. I like that.
Darlene, I am "guessing" that the orders we get are from a few different clients. I have seen 2-3 different forms from some companies.

I think most have our client's client name on there somewhere. It's almost always the same form every time for a particular client, right?. I just got an 82 because of 8 mile proximity and comments. Scanned comments and did not find anything. I had the word "smaller", and the word "older". Can't change those because I was describing the subdivision compared to the subject.
The reason I thought the comments did effect score is because of one that I did that should have been a 100 because it was in great subdivision with great comps, and nothing else was in red. Still, I got less than 100 (don't remember how much) and comments was only thing they had indicated.
Just finished one. Guess what it had on it, Gary. The drop down POO box.
Haven't seen you lately, Treebird. I hope that is because you have been making money.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
