I used Compass/Blackwater a few years back for SEO and was happy with them.

Now Compass has a system where they set up a website that drives leads to you. They estimate 10 leads per month (phone/email contact). Their guarantee is one closed transaction per year. $1800 down and 235/month,1 year contract.

I do 2-4 transactions on my own with my site but would like to do more obviously.

Any thoughts on the new Compass system?

My thoughts are that you do not need the compass system. If you set up a wordpress blog and put the right plugins on the blog you will generate more leads than you know what to do with. I am sure you can find services that will build a wordpress blog and maintain it for you much cheaper than that.

Well, look at it from a numbers basis, on your market, based on the amount of transactions they are suggesting you will get (1), does it justify the expense for this SEO company? Personally, I am familiar with Blackwater, but I haven't heard about this Compass system. Please provide feedback here if you decide to go with them.

I took a look at Blackwater and it just seems like way too much to pay for a blog and SEO. However, I would disagree with the earlier comment that it's as simple as inserting a blog and adding certain widgets. The challenge becomes converting routine visitors to actual clients.

I'd also say that I'm not impressed with Blackwater's "In the Press" tab. This is usually exclusive to select, notable news websites. Blackwater seems to have added countless posts from a parallel blog.

I agree that a wordpress blog with the right plugins will be just fine. Depending on the keywords you target and their competitiveness you should be ok.
