The best thing for you to do is search thru this site and read the different threads. There are a ton of companies listed on here. Not many people are going to give you a list, but there are great resources on this site. Good luck!

This week someone from another real estate office near mine called and asked if I would mind sharing my BPO list with him.
I said I would be happy to share my entire list with him as long as he put me on the deed to his home, put the title to his car in my name, added me on all of his bank accounts, brokerage accounts and any stock he owned. I also asked for a referral fee for all of his listings/sales and I would like a piece of any college funds he had started for his children. He thought I was fresh. I thought I may have not asked for enough! I love this job.

It sucks you got your laptop taken, but many agents will not give up the co's they work for to anyone. Just as you would think twice about giving up your client lists, so do many of us. That one list may be actual people instead of banks or whatever, makes little differance. It isn't personal, it's business.
But there is a ton of info available on this site and around the web. Read. Read. Read.

You can spend an hour searching this site, another searching for company website, and another 3 or 4 hours applying to the companies and get sign up with the top 20 companies to work for....one day's work. You can also find the 6 or 7 to not work for and not bother signing up with...that's probably as important.

Can You Recommend some good BPO companies Is there an echo? Have we heard this question before? Do a search.

I don't read anything that is cruel? Blunt perhaps. Not cruel.
You have to realize that many of the posters here have worked many, many years to develop a list of quality contacts for which to derive their livelihood from. Since this is an open forum, there are competitors here or there could be. There is at least one person that is registered here that I overlap with.
Read the archives and you will get 90% of the quality companies to work with and unless you are in an area that is saturated with agents doing bpo's, sign up with them all and after about 90 days you will actually be turning business down due to the volume of work and the distances that they ask you to get for a minimum fee.

BTW, for you and everyone who may not be aware of it, depending on where you are located, contact all the locally and regional banks and savings and loans. Many of them carry their own paper on some loans. They often need bpos for PMI release or re-fies and don't know where to go and don't use the nationals. I get a number of these each month and the can pay the best dollars. I have received more than $150 for just a 3-sold, exterior drive-by. It sure helps balance out the $50 and $60 jobs. Put together a brochure sheet and leave it with the lending officers at each bank and savings and loan.

Hey Gig em, great idea. I'll give that a shot, esp. since I currently have an REO listing with a major regional bank. Why didn't I think of that?!! Duh! Oh, yes, I did get the same email from Jeff Cohen. Anyone know who this guy is? I just ignored the email.

I got that message twice, and I sent him my entire list, including contact names, phone numbers, and what they'll pay... NOT! I actually get those from different people regularly since I got on this forum. Don't like it, either...

Ok is it just me or is there something fishy about the original post? I'm sorry but the posters story doesn't jive. If I worked for someone for 6 years I don't need my laptop to remember their name. I don't need my list of companies to remember their names. If someone does business regularly with a company I think they would remember the company's name. To me it sounds like someone is just fishy for a sucker to turn over their contacts.

LOL 100% right. everything is here to be provided if you search for them. I did put up a list a few months back but took them down. people who are serious will do the research and find them. if you regularly do business with someone, then the last thing you will forget are the business names which can be easily found by searching the net.

Also, it seems odd that even if you have them on your list of favorites...that you wouldn't still have an idea of their addresses. And if you don't know the websites...wouldn't it be a lil easier to just ask for help finding the contact info for the specific companies you used to work with. Also if your computer was stolen you can still gain access to your email elsewhere...surely you have received an email from your companies. Don't most people save those for awhile??

Those of us that have been on this board for awhile see this type of question posted at least weekly. Honestly, I'm tired of seeing it. I'm tired of people that can't read the sticky-post at the top, that very clearly states to search before you post. Not one reply was out of line. No one was hostile in their responses. There are many knowledgeable & helpful agents on this site. And if someone asks for help, they usually get it. You're not asking for help. You're asking for people to hand over their business to you, while offering nothing in return. Obviously from your last post, you won't even give help to those of us who've replied to your 1st post, if ever we need it.
This business is all about working for your Wheaties.

007, you had better look out for your competition. There are agents out there that will do anything they can to get your business and get an advantage.
You have totally missed the boat. Not revealing the contacts that a person has made has zero to do with insecurity but good business practices. It would be totally asinine to just pass on to potential competitors a portion of the goodwill value of a business.
Since you are totally confident in your abilities, please post the names and addresses of all your past clients here and also email the list to all the other agents in your area. Of course, your clients will stay with you since they will do "business with me they will irregardless of whoever else might offer the services."

Okay, Agent 007. I just typed a long post defending you because new agents do not realize, with all the free flowing names and hints, that we do not like giving out our lists. However, I will not post that since you have re-posted and changed what I thought was your original line of thought.
That being said, maybe we could be a little more friendly when explaining to new members that we do not give out names. HERE IS WHY WE AREN'T MORE FRIENDLY. It's because some new members attack us after we explain that we do not give it out, so everyone is just being firm up front now. When I say attack, I mean they are right in our face telling us we are....well, go read them for yourself. Our NOT giving out the list is not because of fearing competition. There are some legitimate reasons, and they have been repeated in these threads over and over.
While I am not proud of it, I did post a very lengthy & extremely harsh response to a guy who personally accused me of not giving names because I was afraid of him being my competition...or close to that reference, anyway. This was after he had ripped everyone else apart. It was not my finest hour. It's new members like that who make the regulars a little short tempered sometimes. So, my point is: read the old threads to find many other reasons why we post no list. You will come back and post that you totally agree with us. I am sure you will, because you appear to be very smart. Anyway, nobody here is mad at anybody. We just have a way we look at this, and would appreciate you reading all the old posts on the subject.
Let's just let this one go, if possible, folks. Agent 007 will be a contributing poster for us, and we won't make any more of this than it is.
I read on the internet for months about BPO's, then downloaded samples to study, and asked an agent friend with tons of experience doing them, before ever signing with a company. Even at that, I learned 90% of what I know about them from just reading for weeks on this forum. So please don't leave the forum...just stick around and try to help us help the other new members. The guys who were the harshest will be your good buds in the coming months. Trust me, they are here to help. Plus, you probably have feedback we could use. That's how it works. I can guarantee you that we are not a "clique" here. You will see that as you read more.
Thanks,
Darlene

So does that mean you didn't lose your laptop at all? You were testing US??? Hmmm. Interesting. All the information you could every want is on this forum. You just have to READ!!! You'll find tons of companies. We'd be making a list every week for the newbies if we did it every time we were asked. Why make us do all your work and bore everyone else by having them read the same information over and over? Just read through the past posts! I never could understand why some agents take offense to doing a little reading.

Originally posted by agent007: You know I originally asked that question to see what type of response I would get and to be honest I was not surprised at all. The one thing I hate the most about real estate is the lack of confidence people have in theirselves. I don't worry about my competition, if someone wants to do business with me they will irregardless of whoever else might offer the services. I just got 5 listings from one owner who is hispanic and speaks very broken english, now he could have listed with the local agent who is also hispanic and has 2 of his other properties listed now, but he didn't, he listed them with me, so what I am really saying wether you share info or not, people will basically do what they want. I have come to the conclusion that most real estate agents are insecure about themselves and their abilities, and you better believe I will definitely not for any other assistance from you folks. not lack of confidence but maybe protective that some person who got some info online w/o doing much would take away our business. even with enought money to retire, why would I just give away my contacts or business away just like that ? even the people you trust you better be careful of..it's not the aged of loyalty we live in. I've not known one single multi-millionaire that loves to do this, in fact they are protective of the contacts they have. I know a couple of rich retiree's who sold the entire contacts for mid's six figures. you're right dont worry about the competition. do your thing. but you still have to work hard for them right? and you're also right, a lot of people, not just real estate agents are insecure about the abilities they have. I have to say 70% of the population or more doubts the abilities they have. that's the diff between making money or not! bar none

ok let me end this and move on with more productive work, first yes my laptop was stolen, and unfortunately I lost alot of info & contact information, some sites I remember and some I don't but that neither here nor there. Second I don't do reo's, and the bpo's are good for when business is slow, other than that, there was no conspiracy on anything, I actually thought you people seemed to have your stuff together, yes I know how to read, and as always I research everything, you know the old saying believe half of what you hear and you can believe most of what you see. You people have just confirmed what I have always said about re/sales people. Thanks for your insight, and appreciate some of yall's honesty, but for the rest good luck. Now move on

I highly recommend coast to coast, premier bpo and bposonline.com, if you are really looking for the big bucks. Add to that brokerpriceopinion.com.

You can do the following: Search through posts here (best way) Sign up with www.kimclass.com. for a pretty good start. I did both. It takes time to search through the posts, but it's worth the trouble!!! Scott

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
