Hey everybody,

I have heard there are some online marketers that use forums

as a sole method of getting traffic to their website. I would like to know, ARE

YOU ONE OF THEM? I would like to know because knowledge of others'

personal experiences will benefit all of us here. It would benefit us all. If you

are, then please share

your experiences!

Yes you can generate a lot of traffic to your site, But i will take your time and effort. you have to be very active on the forums and make a comment that is beneficial to all on the forums and put your site url on your signature box.

Yes...forum marketing can generate a lot of traffic...but the conversion is low due to visitors are not looking for specific property

One of my clients does this in addition to the SEO work we do for him and it works wonders. He makes a post in the format: "Ask me anything about mls listings" or "ask me anything about foreclosures" for example. He then establishes himself as an expert by succinctly answering questions then proceeds to close deal after deal.

(The above two are examples I obviously wouldn't out what exactly he targets)

Great points above. It's all very well getting lots of people to your site, but if they're not actually looking for what you're offering...

Could you explain how forum marketing would work in Real Estate.

Since real estate is local and one of the advantages of most forum is that they are global in scope it would be very rare that as a REALTOR you would ever meet somebody in your own market.

Trulia and Zillow have local forums where you could conceivably find some business. There are also local forums but the one here is pretty scrupulous at preventing salespeople from posting for business. I would think that there are probably low results with type of marketing ploy in general.

There are national discussion groups where you can converse and sometimes agents from other cities will send a referral if you are a contributing member of the discussions and they have gotten to know you that way. Again, limited results.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
