I host the Radio Real Estate show on CFSI 107.9 fm Salt Spring Island Radio streaming http://www.cfsi-fm.com every Tuesday at 12 noon PST. The show has covered almost all RE topics. In my third year of hosting the show. It is not easy to come up with new material. If you can chat feel free to call in live during the show. 1-250-931-7999. Real Estate is a very local business but we are all in the same boat selling and or buying with the same problems. Down market with clients holding off buying etc... I have no ideal how many people tune in to my show. 10,000 on island but the podcast are very popular. So if you read this in time are can call in please do. Lets chat RE.

Besides just got an email from my guest for tomorrow and he cant make it. Do you know how hard it is to sit in a studio and chat with yourself for an hour. If no one calls in tomorrows topic is home staging and how I would fix up that dump you live in so someone would want to pay you for it.

I see some of the big agents like Chris Heller do Radio shows for lead generation. Hows it working for you?

It one of the best things I have done surprised more agents don't go to radio stations and pitch a show. Stations are dying to get shows especially when they don't have to pay the host.

The best part of the show is I'm forced to do 1 hour per week which I later use in blog post as podcast. Some shows have had 300 or so downloads. That is not big numbers but as an agent I only need so many buyers per year.

I have had bank execs, contractors, buyers, sellers, financial planners, home designers, all local politicians etc.. on the show. I have really learned a lot doing the show and gained credibility and a media pass for various shows.

All at little or no cost. I pre tape shows on a mp3 recorder if I'm out doing showing. I have even, with permission, live taped a day of showing. The buyer thought it was fun and sent the blog post out over facebook to everyone he new.

If I was to move to a new market in any city or wherever I would hit up all the Radio stations for a show. They like it because of the demographics of the listeners makes it easy to sell ads.

No one called in today but it was short notice. Maybe next week. Would be nice to schedule in 5 or 6 agents for a round north America market up date.

For some reason pm ing you did not work on the board. The one handy bit of advice for radio host is to download anarchy audio editing program. It is a free download with lots of support videos on youtube. Once you get a hang of working with audio files it is easy to make little jingles for the show and or ads. It also helps with edits of the podcast.
