Hi all,

I am considering getting my brokers license but I am short on the education requirements and I will have 1 year from application to fulfill the education. I do not have a degree and have not looked at my college transcript for some time. I think I will need 500+ hours to complete in a year. Has anyone ever tackled something similar to this. Any suggestions on a provider for my related classes? I can not seem to find a CE provider that has packages for that many hours.

Any suggestions? By the way I am in Texas.

Holy Cow! You need 500 hours of education to get a broker's license in Texas? That is huge. Here we only need 120 hours and it's just a repeat of the agent licensing. I just finished mine and passed the test at the beginning of December. I don't know if I would have bothered if I had to do that much education.

My first question is what experience do you have, do you have a license now, or ever been licensed, and if you have some history are you intending to open your own office. If you have little experience just join someone and work on it until you get it, and take the courses at a decent pace. Yes, you can cram but why?, especially if your not going to open an office immediately anyway.

I have had my salesperson license for two years. The reason is that the requirements for a brokers license are increasing Jan. 1.
Instead of two years, you need 4. I am very worried about the time commitment, but I have spoken with a couple of CE providers and they say they see it done all the time, but wanted to see if anyone had any insight on this here.
