I am looking for input on a good backup / cloudesque site that I can upload my files to and be able to safely have them backed up, and be easily accesible from laptop / phone etc. I have been using Mozy, but I hate the haphazard way things are stored there. I want a mirror of my desktop in cyber space for cheap. Is that out there? Sorry if this has already been discussed

I use dropbox for all my RE file storage. I can pull it up on any computer, iPad and my android phone. Anytime I need a file or need to check a contract its all at my fingertips. Not to mention many apps (goodreader/PDF expert & etc) for iPad/Android sync with it so I can write offers/contracts on the fly if need be.

I am looking at google docs next to see how well it integrates with everything.

instead of syncing with a computer, everything stays on google docs. there is nothing actually on your pc. instead of storing on your computer, you keep it in the cloud.

the nice thing is that you can have multiple users access adn share things along with editing of the same word doc from multiple locations at the same time and see all changes to teh doc in realtime.

also, use spanning backup with it for 3 dollars a month to back things up.

i had a catastrophic data dump with sugarsync one time and duplicates with carbonite and sugarsync can be a real pita if mulitple people use the system.

docs has fixed all of the problems that i had in the past and as one who keeps every thing, this system gives me the best backup as it lets a third party back up your primary

Does google docs cost? I love dropbox but I am running out of room and will soon have to pay.

I like the idea of 1 service doing it all. I have hundreds and hundreds of photos and video files that need to be on my computer until I am finished editing them. Carbonite will automatically back them, and everything else up for me.

I do not like Google Docs except for the most basic of things - I prefer using Open Office for documents. I do not have anyone else editing or otherwise working on documents that I've created so multi-user ability is of no interest to me.

I would also love to find a good cloud based service to store photos and videos outside my computer. Carbonite works great to back up what is on your computer, but I need somewhere to handle to overflow. I have too much to keep it all on my computer.
