I am a real estate broker in florida. Have been doing reo's for loan servicers only. Applied to fannie mae some months back. I got a call last week setting up an interview to become a fannie mae broker. There will be 3 people from fannie interviewing me on the phone. Has anyone had the "interview" and if so what should i be prepared with.

The lady at fannie mae just said they would call and gave me no idea of any questions etc...

I did get the call - but it was just from one person. She ask me a lot of questions about my listing experience, also about putting properties back together - rehabbing. They weren't anything I couldn't answer - didn't need my files or anything - it did however dawn on my half way through the conversation that it was for Fannie Mae - to be a listing agent - I hadn't thought about who I was talking to until then - that made me nervious. I am now an approved agent - but like I said - just one phone call.

Currently, I am an Associate Broker at my Broker's firm. I want to do work for Fannie Mae. I have not opened my own firm yet but am working towards doing so.

When I register with Fannie Mae, should I put my broker's current information on the form? Or, do I talk about "me" and my support at my current firm? What's the best way for me to proceed with getting established with FM?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Can anyone give feedback as to the process... I submitted my initial package and shortly after received a login. That said I've not gotten any call and it happened pretty quick. Does a password simply mean I've been added to the list of potential brokers?

I received a invitation from Fannie Mae where they gave me a password to access their system and answer several questions. I am a Associate Broker. I assume once I answer the questions I will be considered for the actual interview. Is there any advice you can give? How many listings did you receive initially and how many are you getting on a monthly basis at this point?

I received the invitation to apply in June 2009 and got my first listing in June 2010. I had my password for their system well before my first listing. There was no fan fair, no music - just an email telling me I had a BPO assignment from Fannie. When they assign you a listing, you get an email telling you a BPO has been assigned. This is the listing BPO, and here, since we are a redemption state, I go into the system and accept the listing, and then the BPO is paused for 4 months. I had to pull over so I could read the email because I was confused. As far as how many listings I received - don't remember. Sometimes I get 5 a month, sometimes 10 and sometimes none. As far as the interview goes - they are going to ask you about your experience in reo and how you prepare your properties for sale. They are into getting them prepared for the most likely buyer. If its gonna be a home owner, you have to be knowledgable about how you make it appeal to a new buyer, and for investors, etc.

What does it mean when you get this email?
You have a notification from SAP Sourcing:

You have been invited to a Fannie Mae sourcing event.
You should have received a separate email containing the details of the event.

RealBoots - It means you have advanced to the next level toward final approval with Fannie Mae. Once you complete this step, you will then go to the interview process, then the business background check and then hopefully final, final approval and start getting listings.

It's a good thing to finally get that email, especially if you have been waiting for a year or so to get it.

Good Luck!!!

I got that e-mail and then went online and answered all the questions. What does the business background check consist of? I doubt I will get approved as I don't have 3 REO references sold within the last 12 months. But who knows maybe they will like me. It had been about 7-8 months for me since getting accepted to use frictionless SAP system or whatever it is.

In August 2011, I received an email that I would be contacted in a few weeks for an interview. I emailed them to ask if I missed the call. I have heard nothing.
comments?

The plot somewhat thickened in the SEC suit against former Fannie & Freddie executives. Daniel Mudd, chief executive of Fortress (owner of NationStar), is to take a leave of absence from work after he was charged with securities fraud. The SEC has accused Mr. Mudd, Fannie's chief executive from 2004 to 2008, and five other former executives of understating the holdings of high-risk home loans by Fannie and fellow mortgage finance group Freddie Mac. The Financial Times reports that, "Fortress did not disclose whether the leave was paid or unpaid. In 2009 Mr. Mudd was paid $25.7 million, including $24 million in stock awards on his appointment as chief executive. Last year he received compensation of $3.3m, according to regulatory filings."
