No, because half the time my site wouldn't have anyone on there to chat with customers...and if I'm doing something on the computer during the day chances are I don't have time to chat with people...though I think it's a great idea if you have a licensed assistant to monitor the chat for you. (licensed so they can answer real estate questions legally)
This is beneficial if you have a big operation as other mentioned you can't be online 24/7 but you can hire people to do this. It is beneficial for the business because customers can easily ask questions about your product

Hi captain21. I would like to share with you some benefits of live chat software. You can offer instant help to your users. Users are able to leave you a message if you are offline. You can monitor your website and see the source of your visitors. You can initiate the conversation if they are potential customers for you. I think you can at least make your website more popular with live chat feature on your website.

Well I have re looked at the live chat and put it on my site. I have a landing page that clients go to for advanced mls search system similar to a idx system and put the live chat on top of the where the clients log on. Today is the first day. On my old site I had a forum that had worked well for 5 years but there is no more support from the forum company. It was unstable. The cool thing about the chat is I can see people log in in real time. Went with Quick chat a very easy to install and configure wordpress plugin.
I think live chat is great only if you have someone that can work it all day. The biggest turn off is when you see live chat offline on a website. If you won't use it it is best not to have.
This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
