Hi Guys, I have read a lot on here about posting a lot of ads on craigslist, but it seems that the majority of the ads I post never show up in the search results. I have since learned that this is called "ghosting" - Whats the simplest way to get around this? I see other people posting like 50 ads at once. What gives??

Ok, so I have been trying a few things out. Opening an in private browser seems to help a little bit, but it's not perfect. A lot of them still get ghosted : ( Does anyone else have any more tricks?

The problem is really LAZINESS but you can call it ghosting if you like.

The problem lies with just cutting and pasting the same information and verbage everywhere. For starters if you have your own site dont cut and paste the same information from your site to others at least change a few things around for each posting. Many search engines and even sites like craigs list are adapting to duplicate content. Duplicating content everywhere leads to all copies losing except what google deams to be the original posting site and guess what unless your an SEO god you might be the original source but 99% of the time if you cut and paste the same information then google wont see you as the original content but a copy cat and your site will be dinged.

Its like most of the news article sites just rehash what another sites posted but notice the more popular ones rewrite the information into thier own words and they get the credit. A lot of those rehash sites wind up doing better than the original article because they are better at SEO.

If this is happening to you, one thing you can do is go somewhere to use a different computer to post it. I know that seems difficult but that is one thing that works.

Here is what you can do...

You will need one Craigslist account on a unique IP address for every 25 posts per day. You will also need one unique phone number or landline forwarded to a phone for each account. (You can Google "PVAs" and "forwarded landlines" to purchase these things.) Then, you can use an auto poster to rapidly post tons of listings and home lists, which link back to an IDX site with an opt-in form.

This allows us to post 100+ ads a day, and capture at least 25 leads a day.
