Not exactly sure where to put this...
"Tracy Lawrence, the notary public who blew the whistle on a massive foreclosure fraud scheme, was found dead in her Las Vegas home on Nov. 28, MSNBC reported. Cause of death has not yet been determined, but Officer Jacinto Rivera, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, said the case was not being investigated as homicide. She was 43. Earlier this month, Lawrence came forward and admitted to the Nevada Attorney General's Office that she notarized 25,000 fraudulent documents for Lender Processing Services, a Florida company used by most major banks to process home repossessions. The documents were filed with the Clark County Recorder's Office between 2005 and 2008, The Los Angeles Times reported. "

I contuinue to be floored by all this stuff. Fraud in banks to get mortgages approved, and now in this foreclosure mess, fraud to foreclose? I hope it is natural causes. If its suicide, that's horrid, and if its murder, I am not sure which is worse. I used to love this job but with all the junk that I keep hearing, it is getting harder and harder to do. Anyone else having a hard time with being an reo listing agent? It used to be I was ok with it, but now, I can't believe half these people should be loosing their houses. Anymore when I get an assignment, I hope they are vacant and no personals. I don't want to see baby pictures, little girls rooms painted with a princess theme, or have to hear another hard luck story. I don't believe the banks are honest, I hate the theifs that work for field services, I hate the buyer's agents that don't look out for their buyers and get them into a house just to get a paycheck. Is there one single person/company out there who is honest? I'm just sick. All I can say is - I will continue to stand my ground and do my job with integrity but wow - so many things seem to be coming down to the almighty dollar.

Compelling info and thoughts. I have read about the FDIC bring a 9 figure action against LPS and Corelogic, primarily focused on WAMU activity and appraisals. How does this relate to bpo's with LSI. I have a vague sense of the connection between LSI and LPS, but I haven't seen LSI BPO activity as party to these broad stroke legal actions. Any insight out there?

LPS is a very large company, and I doubt any of this will directly affect the BPO department. While they do a lot of BPO's, it's just a small piece of the company. I had heard that LPS is involved in about 50% of all real estate transaction in the US in one way or another.

OverTheEdge, you're one of the few who has ethics and remains in this industry. the honest ones usually get out.

LSI orders are fairly easier to do for the most part. I personally like doing work for them.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
