I just had a previous buyer email me that she went to pay her taxes and a CDD assestment was added. Honestly, I had never heard of that. I did some research and it's a community development district tax. I told her that I had asked if there were any assestments and I was told no but that was by the association which is different, I also told her that when I checked the tax extimator in our county site that was not disclosed. So, for the future, how do we know of this assestment?

You say it was a previous client. How long ago did they purchase? There is no way to know of assessments that will be assessed after they take ownership. You would need to contact the authority that is doing the assessing and find out when they placed this on the property.

I can't predict the future.

I always make the current Owners' most recent tax bill available; and the Buyers' Attorney should discover any unusual encumbrances while doing a Title Opinion.

Once the property has conveyed, it's on the new Owner.

Best strategy would be to ask the Seller directly prior to making an offer.
