I am going to purchase a name badge and I wanted to know if you all suggest a white or a gold? Which one attracts the eye, more?

Thanks.

I like gold. White might get noticed more, but if it's white paint, it will scratch noticably more also. I hope the color of a name tag is not your biggest concern.

Thanks, VABroker, I thought I would purchase a white one but looking at the gold ones offered they look much nicer. I was reading an old post that I had started a while back on name tags & now is when I am going forward to actually purchasing one!

Our name badges are our company colors. I should think yours would be red and white. *shrug*

Just beware when wearing it in stores, people will walk up to you and ask you where the toilet paper is. lol (speaking from experience....a lady came up to me in staples and asked me where something was and I said "I honestly don't know..." and I didn't realize she thought I worked there...until she very rudely said "WELL YOU DO WORK HERE DON'T YOU?" and then I said..."Uh, NO. I don't." LOL

Well I'll try posting again, hit something and everything just disappeared and sent me to MSN.

What I was saying is just get the name badge and wear it, it took me millions in lost business until I saw the light. Name badges just were not cool.

And like Perky said I have had people see the badge in stores and just assumed I worked there, but that wasn't all bad. Got three deals out of saying I don't know where that is but I can help you find a new home or investment if your interested, as I smiled and pointed to the word Realtor on my badge.

Do you think a name badge and a polo is superior to a suit and Realtor pin?

A nice branded polo is better if your skinny.

If your a bit chunky a navy blue blazer with gray pants hide many sins.

If you wear the navy blazer and grey pants and a white name badge, they may think you are a missionary for the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses. LOL Stick to the polo.

The suit would depend on your market area. Most of the time I would say a polo and khakis or slacks is suitable attire.

This name badge talk is thought provoking. I currently just were a brokerage branded polo, and open house visitors quickly identify me as the real estate agent (which I thought was a great improvement), but it hasn't dawned on me to wear a name badge in addition. Thank you for the tip! Oh, and in my opinion, wearing a polo shirt in an Open House is already going to me more dressy than most of the clientele, and dressing more formally (in low-to-mid market homes) will make people feel less comfortable.
