Personally I think that your site is weak, take a look at http://flawless-realestate.com they have much better designs and also they allow you to post your own property listings on your site.

Hmmm... better designs eh? I know I would want a cookie-cutter site that looks like other agents' sites, but with different colours. And I would sure like to pay double to have that! Boy, what a deal, I am so glad you pointed it out!
Or, you could get a custom site, done just the way you want it. Heck if you want expensive clone sites, I could post the link to the Craig Proctor Super-Turbo-Wonderful-Amazing-Fantabulous-Riches-O-Matic site so people can see who else wants to charge you out the wazoo for the same template everyone else has.
Oh yeah, did I mention that the custom site is around $500 (for something basic - you want 100 pages of Flash, the price is going up) Canadian. Better deal than $495 USD setup plus $45/month. So, for a year, that would be $1,035, which is $1,309.89 Canadian at today's rates. Heck, if you need hosting, I would combine design and hosting for $700.
But, if you want to pay double and get a cookie-cutter site, then you go right ahead. If not, email me at lopix@lopix.com and let's see what I can do for you for the same amount or less.
P.S. Hey there design expert, why doncha post a link to your site for everyone to critique?

P.S. Any site I do has room for any number of listings, just because they are not there does not mean that they are not possible. There just might be a legitimate marketing reason behind what you see, capeche?

aplus, Firstly - your link points to a site that is still under construction. Nice try. My guess is you are selling website design and trying to sucker me in. Secondly, I AM able to post my listings for free anytime I want. Instead, I have a form for prospects to fill out BEFORE I show them my listings. I get a ton of leads this way and thus have helped many lovely people find new homes. Also for the record, you are the SECOND web designer that has contacted in the past 2 days through the Agents Online Forum. Thanks, but I'm not interested. I am very happy with my three branded websites. (Not to mention my two non-branded info sites...) In fact, I have had MANY people contacting me asking for my web designer's contact info because they liked my main site. Also, my sites have kick-ass positioning thanks to my web designer. Go to yahoo.com and type in "Toronto Condos" - I come up #4 on the first page. Go to yahoo.com and type in "Toronto Lofts" - I'm on the first page #8. Since my site has only been around since Feb 2004 I think this is pretty damn good. So thanks but no thanks.

aplus,
Insulting people is not going to get you business!!!
I suggest advertising on this forum (obviously in this area only since the other areas will nuke you for spamming) and being a little less antagonistic.
Or try private messaging individuals - if people are interested then they'll check out what you have to offer. No need to be insulting. Remember - you are a professional trying to sell a product/service.
Another thought would be to contact all the GTA brokerages and ask for the opportunity to speak at their next sales meeting. Office managers love having guest speakers.
THAT will get you business. Sweetness gets a good response... remember that.

Insulting people does no good for anyone. It makes you look bad and you don't get the sale. Why not start your own thread, like I did? At least I would have the decency not to put you down.
I guess being in the web design and online marketing business for 12 years is what gets my back up when some new guy comes along and challenges me.
I do agree that some of my sites need updating, I have been too busy working on client sites to worry about my own. But now that you mention it, I guess I will have to go and update mine. I feel no need to hold a candle to you, too bad that you feel the need to put me down in an attempt to make yourself look good. Let your work stand on its own, without belittling other people. That will be your true measure.

I am actually glad this discussion took place, as I have now totally re-done http://realestate.lopix.com and I think it looks much better now. While I don't agree with the tactics, sometimes you do need to be told you need an update

I tried your site in two browsers. At first, I thought the page wasn't loading, but I think it's because the page starts a lot lower than normal websites. Maybe something is wrong with my browsers (firefox and safari).

Good lord,
Now everyone is a real estate web designer and seo expert....LOL
Lopix, with all due respect, your homepage is a textbook definition of spam. FACT: Here's what you are presenting to the search engines:
Real Estate Web Design by Lopix Real Estate Web DesignReal Estate Web Design Real Estate Web DesignReal Estate Web Design Real Estate Web DesignReal Estate Web Design Real Estate Web DesignReal Estate Web Design Real Estate Web Design Real Estate Web Design
Is this an example of your wonderous search engine optimization skills
You obviously have some talent in the graphic ddesign department but web designers and graphic designers that over reach are the reason 99% of real estate websites are little more than billboards in the desert. Stick to what you know and form some solid strategic partnerships and everyone will be better off. Sorry for the harsh tone but we deal with so many people that invested piles of money only to be disappointed that it makes me a bit crazy.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
