My story: I love being a Realtor and aspire to be the best in the world, after realizing that 80% of buyers and sellers are starting with the internet to find a Realtor, and after seeing homegain.com taking many of the leads and charging Realtors 30% of our commission for those leads, and after hearing the story of that Realtor from Idaho in the NY Times who invested over $100,000 on domain names and is getting 1,000 solid leads per year, I decided to be one of the people in the forefront buying virtual property in this new frontier. I researched the most frequently used keywords and phrases in our industry and purchased everyone I could (over 1,000 domains). At this point, I am overwhelmed, I did not intend to sell any of them, but if the domain can go to a good home and at the right price, then parting will be sweet sorrow. I will sell many of these names in the price range between $10 to $10,000. Some I will not sell unless the offer is enough to make me say "yahoo". I am willing to lease or partner with some names as well. Good luck and A.B.C. (Always Be Closing :-) http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com Problem for you: Domains that contain the dash character are virtually worthless. It's been scientifically proven that nobody can remember them. I wouldn't want them if you were giving them away for free.

Hi navarac, I always had the experience that domains with dashes are liked by search engines. Your right that they might not be remembered, but if it's ranked on top in search engines (which many domains with dashes are), and a buyer or seller contacts you from them, then you got a lead and at that point, who cares if that buyer remembers what your domain name was? I bought many of the names with search engine placement in mind. (but not time constraints in mind :-) best regards Mike G from CT http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi again Scott D. is there some sort of spam exam a person has to take to make a post here? I purchased many of these names years ago and because of my current situation, the fellow Realtors in this forum have the chance to buy a name more desireable than floridalistforlessrealty.com best regards Mike G from CT http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi ScoFla, regarding the prices and having purchased them at retail price, wasn't realtor.com at one time purchased for $8? and now it's a multi million dollar site. as well as forsalebyowner.com was once purchased for the retail price of $8, then resold for $800,000 and is now a multi million dollar site. Why? that is like trying to buy Microsoft stocks today and complaining that it used to be a penny stock. domain names are a growning force in real estate, almost too much, and I hope it does not put a lot of us out of business like the stock websites put a lot of stock brokers out of business. Traders did not want to pay a stock broker $6,000 to make a big trade when they can do the same on scottstrade.com for $6 best regards Mike G in CT http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

What we are trying to ay is that the people using this forum don't like getting pitches from people that have never posted here before. That is considered spam and not well received.

Hi Scot D, ah, an actual spam exam question :-) well, I hope I pass... http://www.houses-in-connecticut.com/ for the record, one big house sale and I would keep all my names, but even if I did, who has the time to build 1,000 sites? best regards Mike G from CT http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi ScoFla, I posted here in the past, under the username Ghounem I believe, or at least surfed here a lot, met a nice realtor here from CA when I was just starting out who gave me some good advice to listen to Roger Butcher tapes. As far as not being well received, I thought you just didn't have your coffee yet since it's only 9AM here in CT. Personelly, I would LOVE it if someone was selling a bunch of real estate domains that they bought years ago, I would feel like a old lady at a yard sale :-) But time is not on my side, so like the yard sale person, the attic tresures got to go. best regards Mike G from CT http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi Accessamerica, nice site, and good choice to move to FL, I heard homes there were getting bought and sold 3 times in one day, that must have been a realtor's heaven. best regards MG http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi Accessamerica Norwalk is my favorite, I prefer it over Danbury because of the salt water, but Danbury is more affordable :-) Your CT and NY domains are bringing a lot of leads to your FL sites? I used to love the winters here but FL is looking better every year :-) best regards MG http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com The Orlando Market has slowed a bit, we have condo conversions up to our eyeballs 16,000 units for sale here and counting.. baby boomers and snowbirds buying here. "I heard homes there were getting bought and sold 3 times" Those days are over with MG. How is the market in CT

Actually, this is not spam I do not believe. Spam would typically amount to bulk emailing your goods/services to a number of people. While this poster seems annoying and seems to think that going toe to toe with the forum members may prove effective, he is really not "spamming". I belong to some music forums, barbecue forums, real estate forums. There is always a hit and run guy/girl stopping to peddle his/her wares much to the annoyance of many of the members. This is the same scene with a different actor. he won't stay long....

Hi Smgardner, Thank you for your "not spam" vote, but I am still preplexed as to how any modern realtor would think that real estate domains for sale bought years ago would be annoying? It makes me wonder that if someone here tried to sell homes.com years ago, would he have been called spam and annoying? best regards MG http://RealEstateDomainForSale.com

Hi Accessamerica, that's excellent, I am happy for you and glad those sites are paying for themselves 1,000 times over. As for the CT market, no more multiple bids here, still some buyers but now they are taking their sweet time at our gas expense :-/ best regards MG http://www.RealEstateDomainForSale.com

the bottom line is people not remembering the name isn't good, however, search engines putting them in the first page when you search for them is huge...SEO (search engine optimization) is vital to any successful website.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
