It will seem as though any efforts on a blog are almost non-existent, but remain consistent and create good content, the rest will follow. But I wouldn't suggest to have a 'minimum' of how much/how often you need to blog as that will lead you to post sub-par material. Best of luck.

Having good content is key, without it, blogging is useless and worst it may damage your online reputation. Stick to what you know/experienced and traffic with come to you. In this business it takes time

Length is really up to discussion and could be very debatable. I think that it really depends on the topic at hand.
I've read pretty long blogs and short ones that did the same justice - but on different topics.
Be short and concise and write as long as needed. Some bloggers like to split really long articles into pieces that run well together which might also be an option.

Let me revisit this.
What is your purpose for blogging, and do you think you'd really be up to it?
Content, length and purpose are all factors. Essentially, most agents want to blog for the purpose of eventual lead generation. So with that in mind, you want to pick the right platform (Wordpress and Blogger being the best options for real estate pros because of the "google juice", tumblr is not something you want to use as a primary, maybe as a sub domain). In a sense, length does matter as well as how often which brings you to content. It's one of those things where it can basically be viewed as "all or nothing". A post a week, with some good solid content at a length of at least 200 (its been said 250-300) words with the proper tagging of each post(very important) will bring people to your blog. How it's publicized is also another way to drive traffic to your content.
Also, understand the difference between owning a seat on a platform and owning the domain

I agree with passionate writing and great content but I don't think that alone will be enough. You have to give it some exposure and market it similar to how you are marketing your core business.
Try submitting it to blog directories - more links, more chances your content gets high ranking in the engines. If it's linked from your core business website - make that link preominent and easy to find If you're active on social networking platforms then that's a great medium to promote it - it's much easier to promote usefull content to your potential clients than your services I agree with the guest blogging - but you have to be proactive

Click, can you post a link to your blog? That way, we can provide you with better guided insight. A post a day? Are you getting content from guest bloggers or is it all your own?

Why would some contribute to someone else's blog? Lots of reasons -- starting with links. Frankly, I think it's crazy that more real estate agents don't utlize guest blogging. Here's a post I wrote about it - http://www.geekestateblog.com/why-guest-...cooper-does-it/

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
