I think Top Producer is a total Rip Off and feel that I have been sucked into using it by fast talking sales people who assured me that it was "user friendly". I find it very difficult to use and I don't have the time for the learning curve. Now I am stuck with it for the next 9 months and it is something I will not use. I recommend that if you don't have it- don't buy it!!

It seems that TP is a love it or hate it type program. I've tried it a few times and then got stuck in the year contract since I didn't cancel within 30 days. I had no idea that you'd have to pay for an entire year if you don't cancel during the trial period.
I bought the KW version this time and it doesn't make a difference. TP has some nice features, but overall, I'd only use the contact manager. Everything else is not user-friendly. If you take the tutorials, it could be a useful program, but I like programs that are more intuitive.

Why not go straight to the source and ask people that use both??? http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/onlineagentusers/ http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/onlineagentusers/ I've used both these program in the past and favor Agent Office (Agent 2000 is just the Re/Max branded version like C-21 Power Pak Agent is the C-21 version). Both these program are fairly large, involved, and have a significant learning curve, especially TP. Unless you're willing to spend the time learning how to use you're probably better off not buying it. Several resellers offer online and physical classes as well as videos, private lessons, and other teaching aids.

You may want to check out RealtyJugglerf Deluxe. It's quite a bit simpler to use that Top Producer and Agent 2000 and you can keep your contacts and appointments in Microsoft Outlook. http://www.RealOrganized.com

Although the overall philosophy of our system is different than either of the programs mentioned, you may be interested in checking it out: www.powermarketingcenter.com It's not for everyone, but when it is put to use it is very powerful. Even if you decide to use one of the programs above you still may want to check it out as it will seamlessly integrate.

HAS ANYONE TRYED TO OPT OUT OF tOP pRODUCER AFTER THE 30 DAY TRIAL? I AM A NEW AGENT AND WAS TALKED INTO TOP PRODUCER. I FIND IT CUMBERSOME, AND OUR COMPANY'S IT GUY SAYS IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO EXPORT THE DATA WHEN YOU WANT TO LEAVE. OUR IT GUY RECOMMENDS OUTLOOK AS DOES PAT ZABY. IF ANYONE HAS A WAY TO CANCEL LET ME KNOW.I HAVE NOT ENTERED MUCH INFO AND I WON'T NOW KNOWING WHAT I KNOW.

Has anyone had success cancelling their Top Producer contract sfter 30 days? I was rooked into it,by a high pressure sales pitch, and now I find out that the database is almost impossibe to export if you quit it. Since I am new I don't have much of a database, and I want to switch to Outlook which is recommended by our company IT. Also Pat Zaby highly recommends Outlook. Brian Rodger's system seems great. Do I need anything else if I use Brian's sysyem?

I am a real estate broker and a real estate technology consultant. I am also an affiliate reseller for Top Producer, as well as several other competitive products. I am having difficulty figuring out why a couple of posts in this thread mention difficulty in exporting. I export my contact data from TP on at least a monthly basis to my hard drive. I have always been a backup freak, so just like having control of my data. Not sure why someone's IT person would say it is difficult, as I found it quite easy. Now, if your goal is to export EVERYTHING that Top Producer tracks, then it might be a bit of a problem, as that would include everything from contacts to bookkeeping. It is unfortunate that there are posts here that say that high pressure sales tactics were used, as there isn't enough money in it for me to do anything but compare and contrast TP with other available products and let the customer decide what's best for them. No aspersions on Pat Zaby, but when one of your primary products is an add-in for Outlook, of course you might be partial to Outlook as a platform. There is some helpful instructional material and links at TechnologyForRealEstate.com That includes some instruction and a Microsoft tutorial link for custom Outlook template you can build for your real estate practice....free.

Yep! I didn't like TP because of their policy of charging you every month for a full year even when you want to cancel. The worst thing you can do to a dissatsified client is to make them continue to pay for your product when they don't want it.
Keller Williams provides a KW version of Top Producer that automatically intregrates with our agent websites. I'm still torn on whether to use it or not, but either way, I'm stuck with them until February.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
