Have any of the cold callers experienced Do Not call violations? I came across a city data forum posting where one of the supposed attorneys indicated that she knew of a case where agent was fined.
I'm just wondering if any of you know of a Real Estate agent fined for Do Not Call violation?

I am planning to start cold calling soon, been reading Lucky's thread, I have been thinking about this myself and to be honest these are some thought's I've had ...
-- Who in the hell has time to try to prosecute someone for calling them? I don't have time to fight an illegitimate parking ticket..
-- DNC website says that each complaint might not be investigated, but a string of complaints could lead to an investigation..
-- "Hello, I'm ______ with ______ real estate, do you know anyone thinking of selling their home" - "yes" +1 to excel spreadsheet 'people who know someone thinking of selling their homes' , congratulations you've just conducted a survey? Haha, I doubt this would work if you actually got nailed, worth a shot.

I'll bet you a million if Lucky called people on DNC he'd be in jail right now with a new wife called Vladimir, this is due to his massive volume of outbound calls he makes. All it will take is a couple of angry wingnuts and bang your suddenly conveted to the gay world or as they call it "become a member of the family".
This being said I've been called 3-4 times and I'm on the DNC list but as you all know I'm scared of the "Karma" police.

I kind of assumed you all disregarded the DNC list, everyone is on it, how are you finding all these people not registered.. my first week as an agent I started calling expireds but scrubbing DNC first.. I think I made a total of 4 calls in an hour b/c so many were on the list..

Do you think you could get in trouble for calling a FSBO and asking them if they were working with buyer agents?

We were all doing just fine calling 30-40 people a day until Lucky started this 200 people a day business and then people got bent out of shape and they had to change the law in order to clip his wings.

I think I made a total of 4 calls in an hour b/c so many were on the list.. our office subsribes to the phone directory which has an option to display only the non- DNC numbers. When this feature is off, I can see that in my area, about 90% of all homeowners are on the DNC list. Now, that means I have to increase my calling area. If you live in a large metro area with a total population of 500,000 people or more, you'll most likely find that you could call about 50,000 which will not be on the list. 50000 calls/year = 192 calls per day (presuming 5 day work week with 52 weeks/year)

I call DNC only, maybe I'm dumb but Lucky claims to drive only ten minutes to appointments, this has not been my experience. Due to the lack of numbers you will land up driving to areas you have never ever been to, they don't speak your language and they wont look like you.
This only applies to high volume callers.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
