When do they actually sell houses? Or do they just take listings period?

I agree with Narvac on scripts. Never will use them as I want to have a personality when I'm talking with prospects.
But more importantly, as he said, I want to enjoy what I'm doing.

I've worked around salespeople for years and never wanted to do that for a living. Then I discovered real estate. I had always found the sales people annoying with their sales techniques with prepared scripts, cold calling, pestering people, etc. You can make a living in RE with being a typical annoying sales person.

Mods: Can we close this? It's really getting to be the same back and forth discussion that will never be settled.

Why would you want to close it? It provides info for people, and if you don't like the thread, why not just avoid it?

Navarac, the biggest problem here as I see it is that you have admitted that you hide behind a screen name so you can be rude and nasty with no repercussions. You think it's your appointed duty to warn new agents about never paying anyone for anything, and you aren't offering anything of value to replace what they aren't getting. You are basically a troll who is ruining conversations between people who are trying to discuss time tested proven methods of lead generation. Everyone gets that you don't agree with the method. I have been in this business for 25 years and frankly the methods you suggest don't work for a lot of people. So its time for you to STFU or maybe start a thread that's helpful.

I don't understand why the moderators let you spew your vitriol like you did when the SEO guy posted. I think it was a solicitation for business and should have been moved to the appropriate section but your response was uncalled for.



You have personal experience with this company? If the moderators need to shut anything down it's Navarac.

I see no reason to close it.

Also, I do believe if certain posters irritate others they can be blocked.

Also, if you find posts that are offensive in some way, please flag it and report it to the moderators and admin.

canned presentations
and use marketing plans with checklist
and find good mentors and coaches and read books and network with other top agents...

go to mike ferry events
go to craig proctor events
keep getting educated..

if you want to be average and get by..like 4-6 deals a year...

then just wing it..be creative..have no schedule and enjoy being average..if thats what you want..

im in this business for six figures..if not its not worth it..

if i want to make 20k-30k i would go work at walmart or mcdonalds...

where you would still have a script or you would be fired...

Yes, some posters are irritating especially if their POV is radically against your own. Yep. You *can* block them so you don't have to see their posts. You can also accept that there may be grains of truth there too in spite of your disagreement.

The beauty of this business is that there is room for everyone.

Please don't believe inflated claims regarding business volume and time off. Anyone who has a $500,000 income is basically never off. Ever. But I do not define a good quality of life as having a lot of time off. I define it as enjoying both your time off, and more importantly, your time on. I could never enjoy my career if it involved demon dialers and hood-winking strangers into working with me using "scientific" hustle scripts. That's just not my idea of a fun career.

However, to each his own. If that type of activity appeals to you, go ahead and do it. You'll probably earn a few bucks, although nowhere near the inflated claims posted on this forum.

nothing wrong with average...

statistics show 90% of real estate agents will never make 100k

according to the labor board statistics website...

but also if there are agents who want more like to earn over 100k and be in the top 10%.

or do over 50 deals and be in the top 5% its nothing wrong with that...

earning over 100k in any field or business will come at a price...

dont be mad at those of us willing to pay the price...

lets look at who earns over 100k...

doctors,lawyers,ceo's they usually spend over 8 years in school..

how much did that cost?
how much time was spent to earn that...?

It's gone way beyond the original post and turned into a script vs. noscript discussion. Should start a new one on that. It has little to do with Lucky's cold calling. I used to moderate other forums and would have locked this one a while back. Or make it a sticky for all it's fans.

Methods are ours and we were listing leaders in our office in 2010 and first quarter 2011.

And I'll move on from this post.
