I have a question, I was contracted by a local investment company to gather info on houses that are nearing foreclosure or some soon to be auctioned. Every morning they send me a list of homes to go and get info on including pics, and general info on the home. They pay for me for each home depending on how much info i get. Now my question is since I technically dont work for them can I try to sell those leads to other investors? And how will i go about that. And Were will I be able to gather the leads to the homes myself?

Dude, they're using you as a doormat. What are they paying you? $5 per property? Cash hopefully.
Did you find them on Craigslist?
You'll go to one of these properties and get you azz wipped or shot even.
I know times are tough but this sounds fishey to me.

They pay me 5 to 20 per house depending on how much info I get. So far I've gotten mostly 10 per house and some 15. They also give me a gas allowance. I was skeptical but I got my first check and it was decent for only working 9 hours.

Heh, I'd do that job all day long if hired! It's not too far off from doing BPOs.

I don't think I'd try to sell that info as leads to others, however. That could be seen as a conflict of interest. Did this company have you sign any kind of agreement that involves confidentiality?

No I didn't have to sign anything. I only had to fill out a w-9 form. They only give Mr several houses day. Wish they would give me more. I just wasn't sure if there wad a market for that info to sell the detailed leads. I was curious as to how they get there leads from. Is it pre foreclosure leads list or something like that. And will it be worth it to me to buy the leads get more info on the property and sell it for more.

Maybe if they buy any of these homes you research you might wind up being a listing agent in the future? Especially if it is a local investment company. Or possibly even a buyer agent.

It is severe however true: You are able to benefit from others' misfortune. The rise in foreclosures implies that those who work in the marketplace to purchase a house will find great deals upon houses that have been gotten back by loan companies. They are usually sold with regard to costs well under their own market price as their owners tend to be wanting to unload them.

The cheap prices are available with possible downsides: A few homes possess liens against them or even mortgages related to them, which can be passed down through their brand new proprietors. It can also be difficult or not possible to examine this kind of homes in advance of their sale, meaning there's no time to see if the basement is overloaded or when the air conditioning nevertheless functions.

I would not try to sell those leads to other investors. If they find out, you'll definitly get a kick in the [censored]...

However, if you really want to do this you can go to the courthouse and see who is buing properties are auction. If you go several times you'll probably spot a few that are there every time.
