has anyone taken this course? and is it worth the $$$
Certified Distressed Property Expert
will it get your foot in the door? get listings and sales?
They also offer an ADVANCED program for $ 99 a month to tap into their library and get updates, now that sounds extreme to me, a money maker for them if they have enough agents sign up for it

I took it and wish I had not. If you need to learn shorts this is one way to do it. If you need forms to help you this will help. I have not benefitted from it one iota.

It's been about 18 months BTW.

thanks!
I did take a similar course locally 4 years ago, kept all the info, forms and CD- accidentailly threw everything out last time I cleaned the office- been looking in every cabinet and drawer for naught- furious that I could be so absent minded-
it seems that $ 600 is rather expensive and I got the feeling that the advanced is only good for them and not for those who sign up for it- everyone is so greedy

That stinks. I bet you could buy the materials used on ebay or something for like $35.

I took it. I liked the forms, but I could have gottem them elsewhere. I took the course on line and did not care for it at all. Lots of stuff that is just not applicable in this market.
Plus, that guy is a little "slick
for me...Save your money.

They keep hounding me to "renew" for $99 a year too. At this point, I have an alphabet behind my name for just about everything out there. I only got the CDPE a little over a year ago to satisfy some AM companies that dangled that ole carrot of listings...that never panned out.

CDPE is good for the agent who does not know how to do a short sale, needs help with marketing or forms that most boards are not providing like the hold harmless. We did buy those forms long ago from someone for a few $$. But to call yourself a CDPE to get more business? I've not seen a return on my investment yet for myself and my partner and we close 25-30 shorts a year.

I have received some referrals, from banks, that I believe came from my CDPE designation. Also, I recently spoke to a bank, they asked if I did SS, told them I did and said I was a CDPE. The reaction was clearly they were familiar with it. With all the CEO's and powers that be talking SS being in their plans, having this designation won't hurt.

Took the class. Very disappointed. It was like another sales pitch through out to take the investor course. I would never do this again!!!

CDPE is a good value in my opinion. They keep you updated with what is changing in the market and offer other benefits. To continue using the CDPE logo you would need to pay $99/yr. It is also a known brand/designation and that's an advantage.

If you are with the big real estate brands ask about the discount . It is around 200 dollars.

Thanks! that's what I thought- I will pass, but will opt to take the NABPOP course instead, thus sticking to my BPO work, short sales will be the thing for next few years, but they are also a LOT OF WORK
