Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I complete a volume of BPOS weekly. However, it has been slow for me for the past 2 months. I use to receive about 30-40 orders a week but now I will be lucky if I complete that much a month. Anyone else experiencing this in Southern California? What's happening with BPOs? I've been asking the companies and they don't seem to have a clear cut answer themselves.

Could be foreclosure/short sales are slowing down. What kind are you dong mostly? Exterior or interior? My BPO business has slowed as well here in NY. I was on a much smaller scale, maybe three a week.

Slow here as well. I think you will find there is a lot of speculation but no legitimate answers as to why the sudden drop off.

The million dollar question...

I wish I had the answer. I've been down by 40% for the past three months.

Today has started off strong though. I exceeded my self-imposed quota.

My numbers are down about 40-50% too. I think it's like this everywhere. There are still a ton of properties that need to go through the foreclosure pipeline, so I am confident that reos and bpos will pick up again. Hopefully soon.

I have a question - How do you all do it?

I read many times where some of you, it only takes 15 minutes to do a BPO - is this after you've taken your photos (ext. and/or int.) and pulled your comps?

I did BPOs a number of years ago and felt brutally beaten by them - the deadlines were too short, sometimes they weren't happy with one comp and then I'd be penalized. It took me one or two days to get one BPO together. Perhaps I was too anal in my collection and analysis of data that it takes me much longer. I'll do a BPO for a gov't agency now and then but the deadline is 72 hours (room to breath).

So I'm really shocked when I read someone is doing 30-40 a week! How do you all do it that quickly?

It takes me anywhere from 40ish minutes to an hour. That doesn't include taking the pics obviously. I always give myself an hour per order.

I can still do 30 - 40 a week, but I'm dog tired and I'm working before sun up, to sun down.

If I get to 20 a week I'm happy. In the last year I only missed that number once. I average about a half hour a form w/comps. And I'm a hunt and pecker. Sl forms I do in about twenty minutes where as a Mainstreet form takes about 45 minutes.

I'm also in Southern California and it is slow, very slow. I used to do 60 to 80 per month. Now I'm lucky if I get 30 to 40. Some of the companies I used to get lots of orders from have just stopped.

Many of us are husband-wife team laugh When husnab takes photos for 3-4 hours, it's enough to pull MLS info, and input data for 4 orders. Then, husband does the rest of data entry and photo uploads. I pay him $20 per each order, ha-ha.

Getting a 2d monitor really pushed my speed up. My dh is licensed & a wiz with mapping, so he can plan his route for maximum efficieny.

We have our routine down now. Once you have your system in place & plenty of practice you will find you can work quickly without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
