Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I am currently totally free to live anywhere I want but having a difficult time figuring out where I want to move to (within the US). I'm thinking Florida since most of my relatives and friends are there (in S. Fl.), but I won't move to S. Fl since it's too crowded and it's relatively expensive nowadays. So Central Florida seems like a better option.

But where do I get info on this? All guidebooks I've seen so far are for tourists -- discussing restaurants and attractions, and especially so for the central Florida (Disney).

Internet relocation info is limited to numbers -- demographics, crime percentages, prices of housing, etc.

I expect a realtor can give me a lot of this, but realtors are focused on certain areas, and I'm still not sure where in central Fl I would want to be in. Also, I'm not sure if central Fl is the answer, so I need some form of comparison and guide to different cities in the U.S. I have some other specifics, such as no snow, and must have a garage, etc, so I need some guide that will let me narrow down the options.

Are there any resources (books, websites, etc) that discuss various cities and the differences between the suburbs from a relocation standpoint?

Thanks,
-Neil.

it depends your situation and financial ability and also it depends your age. most people over 50's they look for a warm weather quiet retiree towns. ages between 35 and 50 yrs old they look for opportunities. places where the economy is booming etc. as for ages between 21 and 34 yrs they look for fun and entertainment. so which cathegory are you in?

We are in a very strong buyer's market here in SW Florida and prices are coming down every month. Give me an idea of what size house, how much land, etc and I'll give you an idea of what it would cost.

A really good place is the offical state of Florida web site and the vistor section there
http://myflorida.com/taxonomy/visitor/

I work the west Central area Tampa, St Pete, Clearwater, Holiday, New Port Richey, Hudson market and would be delighted to provide detailed information on this area.

Yes we have no snow. We also have no state income tax.

Hello, Good Luck!! One web site that I really enjoyed using when I was trying to find the best place for me to live was at http://www.findyourspot.com you take a quiz and then it shows you based on the answers you provided where the best places to live would be. If you're looking for info on a particular city you can call the chamber of commerce, many times they have an excellant relocation guide they can send you, or if not then contact a realtor in each town you are interested in and have them send you a relocatin guide. Keep in mind though that if you have the realtors send you a relo packet they are typically spending roughly $15 to $20.00 of their own money mailing it out to you. Good Luck!!

You might try googling central florida real estate and talk to the realtors that show up in the results.
