I'm looking for small wooded lot close to houston not more than 3hr drive.
I'm considering going in with a few other buyers (anyone interested).
If we have an acre that's 1/4 to everyone...more than enough room!
I have seen lots in willis for $1000 but they are too close to other people.
If you know of remote areas for sale let me know
Thanks

If we have an acre that's 1/4 to everyone...more than enough room! Maybe not enough for a Well and Septic System; but I reckon you could probably just hold it if you're only 3 hours away. Would you be wanting electricity there; or a road to get to it?

Haha.
No, I'm not needing water and septic. I plan on bringing potable water and portable "facilities". It's not going to be permanent, and it's going to be under (sqft) for what's needed for permits. Trying to keep everything to a min. and min. bureaucracy. As far as road... close to a main one would work.
Why, you got any leads?
No electric needed, either. Solar power.

I've sold land for as little as $82.00 per acre; but unfortunately, most everything here is more than 3 hours from Houston.

From the looks of it though you may be from overseas Not overseas; but north of the Mason-Dixon. Or has the Mississippi swollen further than reported by the news media?

Oh, I glanced at North Kingdom on your profile. Closer than I thought. Well, if you know of some land, or hear anything, you could let me know.. I'd appreciate that.

The best I can come up with at the moment is $357.14 per Acre, or $10,000 for 28 Acres . . . . but obviously, you do have to buy all 28 acres.
That's for a "Swamp Lot" in Brandon Swamp. Could be good for hunting, or timber harvesting. The possibilities are endless. Lot is located in Brandon Swamp, there is no road or trail leading to it. I suppose you could canoe in and out. Best way to find it would be with a GPS.
I wouldn't want to talk it up too much . . . . but for a Swamp Lot, it's a pretty nice one! And taxes are only $187 per year. That's quite the bargain! We don't form opinions on what we sell. Everything will be bought by someone. I sold a 40 Acre lot like this not so long ago for about $16000, and the Buyer loved it because it was a resting stop for the Migrating Ducks and Geese. He wanted to make sure it remained available to them . . . . like they were really worried ?
When asked what it looked like, I could only say you could see your reflection in it . . . "How good is that ?"

Dale I like your sense of humor. It is probably a little cooler in Vermont than it is in Phoenix so can I come up there and just follow you around take notes? I promise you will hardly notice I am there. I could sleep in a tent near some of the swamp land.

At least you had the courtesy to ask permission !The Blonde woman who was following me is just a stalker. She's on my tail a couple times a week. I could introduce her to you and then maybe you'd have a new friend to take home with you. And there is that Guy from the IRS following me around already; but I usually find a way to shake loose of him everytime we get on a back road. Last winter he got lost when his ball-point pen froze up on him as we got down to -57°F driving through a blizzard. I haven't seen him again since we thawed out this Spring. They might find him if they ever drain that swamp; but there's no money in the budget for that. Pitch your tent anywhere you find a patch of dry dirt.

Dale- Minus 57 sounds to me like you might need a house in Phoenix

Dale- Minus 57 sounds to me like you might need a house in Phoenix Maybe . . . . you talk it up and that could happen . . . . I've relatives there and in Utah. That -57°F isn't so bad . . . . see it's a dry cold; and it also serves to keep the Riff-Raff out of here (at least during the Winter). I've sold some places where the nightly temperatures get down to -70°F so that's really cold. Sometimes the Buyers don't stay too long . . . . many left as soon as the bears came out of hibernation. During the days it will warm right up to maybe -35°F or so . . . . enough to thaw out your windshield washer fluid ! And pitching a tent during the winter isn't such a hot idea; but at least your sleeping bag would be dry. Right now it's about +74°F . . . . we're having a heat wave. I might even open a window ! Any way, good luck in your Licensed Real Estate Career. Your background in building will pay dividends. I like Real Estate . . . . it involves all aspects of the human condition and requires that we be a little bit of a sales person, do a little bit of lawyering, some building, appraisal and inspection work, mixed with some financing, and forester, fisherman and hunter activity, some grievance and marriage counseling, diplomat, plumber, carpenter, furniture mover . . . . always performed with a smile on your face. We do everything that other more normal people don't want to do.

Dale I think you forgot pet sitter and psychologist. Have you got close enough to the blond that has been stalking you to see if she has most of her own teeth? If so I might be interested. We lost an IRS agent back in the hills of SW Missouri they think he got lost in the woods and was bitten by a rabid raccoon. They are sure that a deer hunter will find his body someday.

Yes, many IRS Agents have a way of getting themselves lost.
Some get help. Some don't. It's a very complicated Tax Code.
But I wouldn't blame the Coons . . . . they're not even subject to taxation.
If you haven't noticed, we do have a thread on RACCOONS over there in "Shootin the Breeze".

It's a terrible state of affairs !
I've heard that the Zoners in East Longmeadow won't allow trailers either . . . . even if it's a nice shiny new Double-Wide. Just lacking in good taste, I guess.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
