Too funny! There are some suburbs of Buffalo that are seeing appreciation, but it is at the expense of neighboring towns/villages.
It's not like a guy wakes up one day and yells "Honey, pack the kids - we're moving to a a craphole with poor schools so we can live in a nice 100k house and pay $6500 per year in taxes! I can't wait to NOT find a job and be subjected to inane regulations, taxes, and an excessive police state. And when my entrepreneurial spirit heats up you and the kids will be relaxed to know there is no way in hell I'll ever be able to start a small business there because I'll need to spend more money bribing politicians than paying for capital costs. Good golly lord honey, I cannot wait to give the local and state gubment 30% of my income and watch the kids become public school dropouts and aspiring union workers collecting garbage on our fine streets."
Yup, CNN really nailed that one. The only way Buffalo will ever become a hot housing market is when it finally burns down.
