The mandate begins next month.....and I've not seen Fox, nor CNN, nor any of the mainstream shills cover this crap, yet it is a direct attack on our freedoms.

They may have had these boxes in cars since the 90s, however, the manufacturers quietly settled lawsuits on these things because they knew they were in the wrong. Having them mandated means the Feds can now use them......

So where does the BPO business go along with any other profession that requires travel?

On the plus side;

In some accidents, a fastened seat belt will come undone. This gives the insurance company a reason to not pay. This box will save some drivers from this experience.

The boxes currently in our cars can only be read by the manufacturer. So, if there is a defect in the car that caused an accident we will never know unless the manufacturer owns up.

I guess that is a silver lining on a dark cloud. As for me though, I'll take the dark cloud. It is kind of like saying, the good thing aobut being in jail is you don't have to wait for the cable guy to come between 8 and 4.

Given the option, I'll wait for the cable guy.

Didn't you get the memo that you're supposed to go to the UK for US news nowadays? The MSM there covers the stuff that happens on this side of the pond wink

from the article:

"Before you start screaming about government overreach, you should know that almost every new car already has a device like this fitted at the factory."

so don't bother worrying about it, its already being done. go back to sleep.

all new technology has wonderful potential for good, and that's how it is sold to us. it of course has immense potential for evil. the difference in how its used depends solely on the people in charge in washington. so no worries there...
