A word of caution,
Before you jump in and register hundreds of domain names you need to first educate yourself about what a good domain is and how to go about creating a portfolio of domains that is suitable for generating leads for your local area. If this strategy can work for one location as indicated in the article then there is a very good chance that it will work for other locations too, but keep in mind that the domains that you get must actually bring you leads that can be converted to potential clients, otherwise you might end up with a bunch of useless domains that are only a waste of money. It is also best to only stick with generic and descriptive domains that don’t infringe on anyone else’s rights. Some domains can generate traffic on their own and some might be better for creating mini sites that might get traffic through the search engines. If you can hand register a domain name for just a few dollars then you might have some flexibility in experimenting with that domain, but if you have to pay 50 or 100k for it then you must make sure that that domain can pay for itself by bringing you leads that can be turned into actual clients.
I just registered NycNyRe.com at godaddy.com which although might not get a lot of traffic on its own right now, but it is a short and attractive domain which I am going to turn into a brand.
If you use the code INDY129 at godaddy.com you can register a new domain for $1.29 (just one at this price, comes to about $1.46 total) if this code doesn’t work anymore then you might try PROMO749 which is for $7.49 .
PS: I am not a real estate agent, but I own a few real estate related domain names that I occasionally advertise for sale.
(just my opinion)
