I saw a similar billboard in my local area as well.

In my opinion QR codes on signs are a gimick. I don't think that people want to get out their car to scan your QR code. I brochure box is probably far more effective.

I disagree, I think you are going to see Quick Response codes on everything very shortly. You don't need to get out of you car at all. I think if we can provide more ways to make it easier for people to get information, the better we look and the easier it will be for them to call us.

Can you imagine when someone pulls up your QR code on their phone and reads the description of the home and just presses the "get connected to the Agent now!" button. I think it's just going to get you more and more leads.

QR codes are here to stay I'm afraid, it's only the beginning.

I think a Billboard is probably a gimick, and a QR Code on a Yard Sign is more directed to sellers than buyers "Cool Factor"

But there's no question QR Codes open up a whole new world of exposure to buyers and sellers in places and ways never before possible.

Oh come on they are for sure a gimmick, just like this whole internet thing.... (OK this is my very weak attempt at being sarcastic and humor) Yes QR is here to stay and so far very under utilized, so jump in while the water is still deep.

I have to agree with the others.

QR codes for people who are too lazy to enter a phone number, email address into their tiny touch screens find it extremely convenient to pull up to a property roll down the window if it is not clean, point their camera at a sign and have the qr code load it on to their phones for them. In the far east it has been a way of life for a long time.

Canandave - If you use them then tell us, have they been successful for you? Have you had REAL clients (buyers or sellers who have purchased or listed through YOU) from these codes? If so, how do you know it was through the codes? And, how many, and, in what time period?

I can see them being useful at least being on a real estate sign in front of the house but not everyone is 'connected' to the internet on their phone. I used my phone once for a code on a magazine advertisement - it took me to their website. My thoughts, "Oh, that's all. I could have just typed the website address in." I wasn't impressed, but then, I'm not a big-time consumer buying into items that will assist me to consume more.
