Yesterday I bought the Wordpress Hosting package at Godaddy (the deluxe plan). Before I become a registered agent (and while I have the time available) I want to learn all I can about building my blog and website. First I would like to begin by blogging about my small town area in hopes of getting some followers to my blog. Eventually I want to build my real estate website when I have found my brokerage and begin working. If I start my blog using my domain name deniseshaw.com will I have to buy another domain name when I want to add my "official" website? I have no idea how all of this works. I eventually want an official real estate website and a link that will go to my blog. How do I go about doing this properly from the beginning?

Blogging about the local community and including location-specific, long-tailed keywords in your articles is a great idea. Once you launch your real estate site you can link to it from your blog.

Blog about everything you can think of about your town that people would be interested in reading about. Events, Restaurants, Schools, News, etc.. Later on this could actually become your real estate site or if need be create another and link to it.

It's a great idea to start now. Age only makes a site better in Google's eyes. As you start, though, make sure you do all the little things with those long tail keywords. Alt tag your images, make sure your internal and links are optimally coded (don't use the default permalinks!), and work on getting some backlinks from other sites.

you don't need to buy new domain later when you make website. At that time you only need to integrate your existing blog with new website design to have benefits of both from same domain without putting extra effort

Wordpress is good for blog. You don't have to buy domain for blog, you can create sub directory or sub domain for the blog.

Your idea of blogging about your small town is excellent. Create a reason for people to come and read your website, and give them reasons to come back on a regular basis.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
