Should I copy one of my blogs from my blog page into Active Rain? I know many of you don't copy the same content, please let me know. I wrote a blog on restaurants in my area & would like to add it to my AR blog.

Personally, I don't see the harm. (Some people are concerned about duplicate content "penalties", but there isn't really a penalty - the issue is that Google doesn't like storing redundant data, so EVENTUALLY - one of those posts will be thrown in the supplemental index and won't show up in searches. The beauty is that it's usually the page that doesn't rank as well. Considering that fact, it's a good idea to syndicate your posts across several sistes.)

If you want to go to the trouble of re-writing your post, and then posting it on AR, that could help so both posts "stick around" longer.
If you do a good job at the rewrite, you can get the posts to rank for slightly different phrases.
When you rewrite, be sure to change titles, tags, keywords, and head tags.

Just post half of it on AR and have a link to read the rest of it on your blog.

My blog is published to several other sites, so I might automatically get duplicate content. Hey, the phone still rings penalties or not. I don't see the harm either.

This is a pretty good idea, but if you have the time, I would spin the article as those links will pass more wieght. Gl

If you use wordpress check out 'autoblogged' perhaps you can use that plugin to feed your other blog and not have to post twice. (maybe there is a similar plugin for blogspot.)

I have done alot of research into the duplicate content issue... You can copy your posts and place them into another location or web 2.0 property.
Now if you want that duplicate post to have a chance to rank in the search engines, all you need to do is add a short paragraph before and after the body of that content.
You do not have to rewrite the entire post or article. Save your time as I am sure you have better things to do.

Relevant & useful content is the key!!!Search engine do not like 100% duplicate contents over different web site or blog but certainly sharing some of the contents on your other blogs which is relevant and useful for your audience will not do harm!!!

Might not be a bad idea to write more/unique content - I think most will agree that when it comes to blogging, "Content is King." You can even add in some topics to the discussion that are non-real estate related! For examples, someone might be looking for yard sales in your area - and if you're writing about it in your blog you may be able to potentially pick them up as a client. :)

This way you make sure your article (and thus your inbound links) stay indexed for longer.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
