I'm a brand new agent. I still have 2-3 weeks until my training session starts so I figured now is the time to get familiar with the area that will become my specialty. How would you recommend I should proceed? The area mostly consists of condos (Downtown West Palm Beach Fl). Should I play with MLS or maybe there are other valueable resourses out there? I would really appreciate any help from seasoned agents.

Playing with the MLS, as you put it, is not possible until you are a member. I guessed from you post that you are licensed but awaiting some brokerage training to start.

Palm Beach county does have a great website known as PAPA that is the Property Appraiser's Public Access site. It shows sales and can be searched by date or address etc.

I actually have a temporary access to MLS so I try to learn as much as I can from this system. In addition to that I found well my fiancee found) a website with all the condos from my area listed on it (http://gocondoz.com/communities.php). So I will be using it as well. It looks like there is a lot of work ahead of me

I decided that the most efficient way of getting to know the area is actually going out there, talking to people, previewing the units etc. So that's the plan. In the next week or two I want to create a spreadsheet with information about every condominium in my area. Something like a reference sheet.
