Some who register using an @gmail.com email address report not receiving the verification email.
The email was sent and the problem is with the receiving and not with the sending.
Gmail usually directs the incoming email to the "spam" box in Gmail. If you are using Gmail's webmail to check your email that is where you will find it.
If you are using an email program such as Outlook or Thunderbird to check your Gmail account or if your Gmail account is forwarded to any other email account you will likely not receive the verification there.
Gmail does not forward spam. It filters it out before forwarding and before you download it to Outlook etc.
You will still need to login to the actual Gmail webmail account that you entered when you registered and check the "spam" box there.
I would also recommend that you mark the email as "not spam" so future notices of replies to your posts etc. do not end up in "spam".
