Hello. I am just in a position to make my decision in which state to apply for salesperson licence. I have in mind two options - NY or Florida.

I have got all info about requirements and some other points that can be found via Internet. But I will be grateful for advice based on experience.
Where it will be easy to start?

I do not think it is "easy to start" anywhere.

I would say..where do you want to live, go there, and get started. But it won't be easy!

OK, that's correct. Let me clarify. Finally i would like to live in Florida. But right now I am living in NY area. Regarding this I am thinking that NY is the most active RE market at the moment and working there for couple of years will give good experience and opportunity to earn some money. From the other side may be it will be better to move and start in Florida. When I told "easy to start" I mean an exam issue and effectiveness from point of money.

I would rather pick where I want to live, live there, plant your roots, learn the area and then build the business from there. Every area has its challenges. It truly does.

I am sure that the NY market very competitive - while there may be stuff going on there are also probably a million agents all vying for the same deals.

Perky is right. It is a lot easier to start a real estate career in a community where you already have developed relationships.

The first thing you do in a new real estate career is notify everyone you have ever met that you are "open for business". Some business or referrals from friends can help get your business started - so NY is the place to begin I would think.
