List lots of houses for sale!

When you do this the benefits will become immediately apparent.

Your telphone will ring a lot as you generate calls from potential buyers looking for a new home.

You will have other agents trying to sell your listings for you.

You will always get a piece of the commission no matter who sells the house.

If you sell the house you earn all of the commission.

"List lots of houses for sale!"

If you'll look at sales stats for most any area you will find almost all of the top producing agents are heavy listers.

Dear Emma,

From an outsider's perspective real estate is probably one of the most misunderstood businesses there is which probably accounts for the very high dropout rate among new licensees.

I believe that as a soon to be college student you would be better off choosing between getting a real estate license and interior design. Both are tough fields to succeed in and to try both while also being a college student has a high probability of failure in my opinion.

I do know several local Realtors who worked at real estate while attending college and it not only paid their way through college but also became their career of choice after graduation.

You do/will have to cultivate great time management skills and forgo some of the social aspects of college but that would be part of the price you pay to succeed.
