What are some of the ways to get clients when you first become an agent? Did you call on FSOB's and expired listings?

Contacting your Sphere, often. The office you choose will have "floor time" Take as much as you can get. FSBO's, expireds. Do not go home until at least 5 new people have your business card every day.

These are a few things I do, I am new also, I started my career in October. It is hard work, but the key is to not give up and stay consistent.

You can always try to pick up an open house from another agent. They are a great way to get into the game and hand out your business card.

There are 600 million people on Facebook now so don't forget to contact all those friends. Get in touch with your sphere, surely there will be some leads in there.

all the best

Cold call you butt off, would probably be a quick start. Followed by expireds and fsbo's. I'm also new but these are the things I do. Cold calling gets you use to hearing "NO" and helps your Realtor language expect a bunch of hang ups of course. FSBO's will give you really tough skin because they have the best put downs, yes bout 70% initially think we are a waste of money. Expireds have the best stories and laughs because about 30% hated their agent and thought they were lazy (which is not always the case.) This is just my area, I'm guessing other areas may be simular.

My office doesn't have floor time but I'm guessing that would be pretty good this time of the year. Though I'd rather go get them then wait for them to come to me.

Number one asset for me so far, don't measure by the lead, measure by the amount of NO's. It makes it easier to handle plus you can set a number like, I'm going for 50 NO's today. And don't stop until you hit that number (hang ups don't count.) I got a lead this evening calling and I was like "darn" at first.

Also check out lucky's post in the other section, I'm want to try it but I think most people would not answer the door seeing me knocking.

Thats one of the funniest things I've read on here. The truthfulness of the breakdown is true!

How do you cold call? How do you not know if they are on the National Do Not call list? I wouldn't mind doing some cold calls, but that do not call list! What to do?

for cold calling and door knocking you really should read the monster thread - I make 100 cold calls every day and love it... it's at 80 pages right now, but it's really worth a read, with a notepad and a pen (take notes)... there's lots of bickering, but also some amazing info, IMHO of course...
