Please bare with me as this may be a stupid question. I was licensed in 2004 but have not been activly selling for years. I keep my license active with the IDFPR - but rules have changed... maybe.
I sent in an offer on a house for myself today that I saw on Realtor.com. I told the agent I was a buyer and agent when viewing it. The listing broker is in a different office than my license in held in. Since his primary business is mortgages he is not a member on the MLS (neither am I)
The listing agent said he cannot accept my offer because I am not a member of the MLS and my broker is not a member. I know there are rules around having to pay a non-MLS member unless the listing agent agrees to beforehand - but not even taking my offer?
Please help. Its been years since I practiced and I cannot find a firm answer online.
