This guy makes a perfect sample of why and how you can make QR codes reusable and not just one time. Do you know someone with a smart phone? Is that smart phone iPhone market growing? #realestate #NAR Are you interested in #QR codes? #Toronto http://www.youtube.com/DWqrcodes#p/uHave people coming to Toronto?

I am testing an April ad campaign using a QR Code that directs the user to the county area of my blog. It will run for a full month in an area with a high density of apartments buildings (hopefully high occupancy communities). Lets see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing!

I just get the feeling that there's a fee for this through this company. You can do a lot of this yourself for FREE.
1. Go to Goo.gl and type in the URL to the target site and click shorten. 2. Then click the details link to the right of the long URL in the bottom half of the screen to find the QR Code for that page.
Save it in your preferred image file format(s) and use it as you wish. I find the Postlet site optimized for smart phones, so you could direct your QR Code to that URL and you haven't paid a dime!

The thing is you never know which new technologies and media will take off, and which will flounder. It's just too early to say with QRs.

From what I've read about QR codes, they are used more prevalently in Europe. A restaurant will have one that links directly to their nightly specials or a store might have a coupon. The QR code links directly to that "page" on the website. It's a lot quicker than clicking through a website, for instance. Applications in Real estate are still in an infancy stage. Here's a link to an article in the January 2001 edition RIS media about their possible use in real estate: http://rismedia.com/2011-01-23/monday-morning-mobile-5-good-reasons-to-use-qr-codes/

Our company made a big deal about the Microsoft version of this called Tag. It's free and easy to use. I used it on flyers and have had no hits from it yet (there are tracking reports you can review). Maybe someday but not in the Midwest yet...

someone will come in and allow owners to create their own free QR codes on their property, put it on a sign or flyer and use it to bypass agents. all info right there for the consumer/buyer. think beyond that basic service and it opens up all kinds of possibilities.
you want technology advancement in real estate - you got it.

Still not buying it.Almost 100k in commission this year already. still not buying what - that it could or will happen? i thought you told us you do strictly commercial now so why even comment? I believe there are sellers who will do what I want. They rest can go to everyone else.By making my investments and listing on my terms I determine the course of my business. so what? why tell us this? it's a big market - with thousands of individual markets outside of your sphere of operation. use them, don't use them - no one cares what you do. Also the sellers don't have the NETWORK of contacts I have built up over the years to move their property. that's why you're special.

Your mindset from your posts seems to be brokers/agents are becoming obsolete. I totally disagree with that way of thinking. You have constantly said technology will make brokers/agents less useful. I am sure there are some that share your same mindset. There are others as well that don't. Yes I only focus on commercial now.I would put it out there that even on the residential side you will find people who have more money than time. They make a bunch of money at their profession and are looking for qualified people to handle things for them. There are people who have lots of time and no money to do it themselves and people who need and want to pay for services. So I don't see FSBO world happening anytime soon. You have been saying this for years and years.Where are all these companies at?? Most of these companies went under. Let's check back in another 5 years and see where things are at............. All the best.

Super Realtor
The demise of brokers position has been going on for over 150 years, in small towns and large. I agree, check with me in 5 years, when the next big new thing comes along. I've been waiting for that event for 45 years I've been licensed and it hasn't shown up yet!
Of course we can be replaced by lawyers and a mill operation and that should cut costs down to about nothing, ha ha, and we all know what great salesman they are. Fsbo's, yes they have a great record vs listing and selling it, that's the way to go in the future if they want less money.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
