This guy makes a perfect sample of why and how you can make QR codes reusable and not just one time.

Do you know someone with a smart phone? Is that smart phone iPhone market growing?

#realestate #NAR Are you interested in #QR codes? #Toronto http://www.youtube.com/DWqrcodes#p/u

Have people coming to Toronto?

I am testing an April ad campaign using a QR Code that directs the user to the county area of my blog. It will run for a full month in an area with a high density of apartments buildings (hopefully high occupancy communities). Lets see how it goes.

Most peopl are not aware of what a QR code is yet. Once somebody points them out to you, you of course start to see them everywhere.

Other than the new & shiny factor I have yet to find any reason they are any better than providing a URL address.

I guess cause it's easy - point and shoot rather than type a URL. Oh, the horror of actually having to type out a URL by hand...omg.

LOL

I want to get more info on this, and I'm DEFINITELY going to look into the website Dave recommends.

Thanks for sharing!

I just get the feeling that there's a fee for this through this company. You can do a lot of this yourself for FREE.

1. Go to Goo.gl and type in the URL to the target site and click shorten.
2. Then click the details link to the right of the long URL in the bottom half of the screen to find the QR Code for that page.

Save it in your preferred image file format(s) and use it as you wish. I find the Postlet site optimized for smart phones, so you could direct your QR Code to that URL and you haven't paid a dime!

People will communicate THE WAY THEY WANT TO versus what TECHNOLOGY DICTATES.

This is why on marketing material you have phone,e-mail,text,website url,qr codes, etc.

The more mediums you have the better of a chance you get a connection for possible business.

Don't try to force on people how to connect to you and instead let them decide.

The thing is you never know which new technologies and media will take off, and which will flounder. It's just too early to say with QRs.

From what I've read about QR codes, they are used more prevalently in Europe. A restaurant will have one that links directly to their nightly specials or a store might have a coupon. The QR code links directly to that "page" on the website. It's a lot quicker than clicking through a website, for instance.
Applications in Real estate are still in an infancy stage.
Here's a link to an article in the January 2001 edition RIS media about their possible use in real estate:

Our company made a big deal about the Microsoft version of this called Tag. It's free and easy to use. I used it on flyers and have had no hits from it yet (there are tracking reports you can review).

Maybe someday but not in the Midwest yet...

someone will come in and allow owners to create their own free QR codes on their property, put it on a sign or flyer and use it to bypass agents. all info right there for the consumer/buyer. think beyond that basic service and it opens up all kinds of possibilities.

you want technology advancement in real estate - you got it.

We Use QR codes on all of our listings (signs, brochures, Video tour etc) With so many people searching for homes online, we talk to our clients a lot about utilizing all of the online tools available to sell their home. With the best looking video tours, and QR code technology we are blowing the competition away! In the last 3 months we have over a 90% success rate at our listing presentations! Sure, we only get a few scans per listing, but we have even picked up buyers because they were impressed with our savvyness... I don't want my competition to beat me to all this cool technology! Feel free to read my blog post I wrote about Real estate and QR codes! http://goo.gl/4SbRv

"put it on a sign or flyer and use it to bypass agents"

Still not buying it.Almost 100k in commission this year already.

I believe there are sellers who will do what I want. They rest can go to everyone else.By making my investments and listing on my terms I determine the course of my business.

Sellers need brokers for setting market values and negotiating a contract.Fliers in a box is not a broker/agents main purpose. Also the sellers don't have the NETWORK of contacts I have built up over the years to move their property.

so what? why tell us this? it's a big market - with thousands of individual markets outside of your sphere of operation. use them, don't use them - no one cares what you do.

that's why you're special.
