In the modern day, the majority of marketers are using social media sites to increase website traffic, gain leads, and make high conversions within their reader base.
In the world of today, marketing online is becoming the popular way of advertising through the media.
Diving into the world of social media may seem intimidating to a “home business man,” who has not ample time in life.
When it comes to making money online, a trick is to give people a “taste,” of your product. This will raise the demand of your product of service. It is also a great way to get some honest feedback. Sharing your skills with others will build credibility!
When you interact with marketers you build a community of value! Sharing your skills will show people the connection to the reality of what you have to offer; past the account of words. It is a good idea to ask or make easy for your fan base to spread your content.
Keep a positive atmosphere at all times; you want to build up a good reputation amongst everyone.
In order to build a interactive community, it is important to take time to comment back to your fans. Communication is one of the keys to building good relationships and buildup of quality followers.
If you want some feedback about your business, you can search social media sites through the search engines. Most likely, you will find a comment about your business and use it as feedback. Fix what needs to be changed to build trust!
You can use the google adwords keyword tool to find what people are searching for that is related to your products or services. This way, you can reach out to those customers through targeting certain keywords that relate to your products and services. By targeting different keywords, you can expand your customers.
People who use social networks are looking to expand their knowledge, not looking to buy a product or service; treat them with value and offer them good offers if you do; you will increases your chances of making sales if you offer an incentive like a discount.
Make sure you try your best to help people with any trouble they are having with your product or service. This will increase your trustworthiness as a marketer and build good credibility!
Social media sites will ultimately let you reach out to massive amounts of traffic and/or customers.

These are great points but leads me to ask a couple of questions concerning industry info as it applies to Facebook, Twitter and blogging. I am new to the business so although I assume I want to keep my posts personal...coming from me, my knowledge base is limited. With that said is it ok to use links to industry news or other webcasts, podcasts, or news articles that are obviously not from me but still would provide a stream of pertinent real estate related issues coming from me.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with attaching industry related news to your site once in a while, but you want to make sure that you are still posting a majority of the content on your own. You can always make your own comments on an article, video, etc that you may be linking to another site as long as you're not taking credit for that material. It's wise to link out to the pages that the info comes from, and you can set your site to open these links in a new window so they remain on your page. People love great content, and if you're helping to provide that they are going to trust and like you.

I cannont stress enough how much ORIGINAL CONTENT is key when blogging or operating your fb community/business page. Best believe if you've reposted or retweeted it, then about 600 other agents in your area did too! You're sure to get lost in the shuffle that way. It takes time, time management and REAL content!

What do you all think about the practitioners who update their FB statuses with their productivity on a daily or even semi-daily basis? I am friends with other agents, generally ones I have dones deals with. Some of them like to post every time they are doing a showing, getting initials on a contract, negotiating something, or doing a home inspection. Some even when they are leaving the office.
During the slow slow market I enjoyed seeing notice of the activity (as a sign of an improving market), but now I see it like I see the VM message that say, "Sorry I could not pick up, I must be with a client." That seems imature to me.
There is nothing really wrong with it I guess, but it gets tiresome and I wonder what non clients think of this.
Any insights?

Doin', I would say that as a colleague I would find it annoying (but that can be easily fixed), but as a client I would find it strange to have my agent updating their every move on FB. Just my 2 cents.

Any insights? Well to keep with the Facebook TOS, you shouldn't be doing much if any mention of business on your personal page. That's where the community and Business pages come in. And even then, I see ALOT of agents not doing it right. Making it a page about them...NO NO NO NO!!!! Yes lead generation may be/is the ultimate goal. But that's not the way to go about it. Most of the time it's them and their official photo on the page, and they're reposting stuff that about 500 other agents in the area more than likely reposted too! What's the point? You business/community page, while having the intent of leading some business your way, should MAINLY be about serving a need in the sense that when people think about *insert name of city here* they'll think of you! SO SO many agents miss the mark on this!

Hi, Well said! making use of social media sites is a great way in promoting a product or service website. These sites serve as a media in communicating with number of clients. An additional tip from me is, always publish or use quality articles/content means updated and relevant (to the website's category)while making use of social media sites. You will gain a good reputation from that and increase your visitors from such sites.
I think most agents seem to be hitting it out of the park with twitter and all. Keep posting the new listings and open houses. People really like that info blasted at them all the time. Every wonder why your not getting followers? I follow a lot of agents and I'm always amazed at how many tweet "new listing at...."
Obviously I'm joking stop it... just stop posting new listing and or open house. The best way to turn off people is to post the same old same old. Don't you go out to parties and meet people twitter is casual chat. Who wants to talk to the pushy life insurance salesman at the party who's opening line is what kind of policy one has.
It is called "social" media not "marketing" or "sales" media.
I agree the social media marketing is correct to say . ______________________________ Assist marketing

Google has made it the way it is if you don't post every so often on Google+ now you won't show in the searches. So I keep pimping my Kansas City Auto Insurance site everyday on there now.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
